Thanks Fuzzy, I know you're right, it just hurts..............  :'(
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Dropped the calipers, chain guard, and front fender mount off at the powdercoater, last trip I'll make there for this project. Getting other stuff out of the way today so Saturday I can spend some quality time checking the carb adjustment after the first fire up the other day and other things on the short list.

well, Terry the shaft drive actually has more of a parasitic loss than chain or belt drives, i dont remember the percentage but it's pretty high. so the numbers you got are pretty damn good power figures.

Your lookig at min of 15% loss at the rear wheel so your stock 140 -15% is closer to 120 at the rear wheel.  So in reality you gained 20.

More importantly how does it feel, the "buttdyno" is more important than raw numbers.

only to find out that it's now producing 140 BHP and 145 footpounds of torque? I guess the "factory" spec is measured at the crank, and not the wheel. That blower kit is looking good................   ;D
you didn't dyno it before you installed the supercharger?
A before and after would have been neat to have in your wallet.

Ha ha, no mate, I don't have a supercharger, yet. If I do, it'll be getting closer to 250 BHP at the rear wheel. I wish they'd dyno'd it before they did the dynotune, but it's a big, busy shop, so there wasn't much chance of that.

Any work I do from now on, I'll take it to a smaller shop with more time. As far as my "seat of the pants meter" goes, with the pipe and other stuff, it sounds (and feels) like a top fuel dragster, but I didn't get a chance to really open the taps today, but with luck, I will on the weekend. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Started the repaint and detail of the K4 badges. First pic is after I got the old stuff off. Second pic is after 1st coat of white. It is slow work, but like polishing the end result will be good with little cost for materials.

Yesterday, got the covers back from the polisher, had to clean them up a ton to remove polishing grit. The clutch cable hole in the cover was almost plugged with grit. I'd hate to have that stuff in the engine oil. Replaced the tach drive seal in the valve cover (thanks for the help guys) and installed it with new/polished phillips head screws, replaced seals in other covers, covered it and went to bed. Hope to get the motor in the frame in the next few days.

Always a good idea to clean out the screws holes of the polishing grit Cliff. It can cause problems with the gasket if enough of that stuff gets between the gasket and the case when you push the new screw through the hole. Those covers look awesome.

K4 - ran the wiring back into the chromed handlebars. Always a fun job and tough on the fingers.

Well I re-installed the F2/K6 engine on Friday, then yesterday I cleaned the carbs, installed them, fitted a new chrome 4 into 1 pipe, gassed it up and hit the button.

It started right away and didn't leak gas all over my engine like it's done twice previously, but I discovered pretty quickly that I hadn't seated #2 cylinder's exhaust spigott properly, so it was going "bloop bloop bloop" and I thought for one horrible moment that my head gasket was leaking?

Anyway, it was nearly 100 deg F out in my driveway and I'd managed to dehydrate myself pretty badly, and still feel sick this morning. It's gonna be another scorcher here today, so I'm gonna take the day off from bike building, and take the family out to the movies to see "Avatar" this afternoon instead. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Ha ha, well as much as I tried to rehydrate myself last night John, the bourbon just didn't do it, and I still feel pretty dry right now! ;D

Added some air fork caps to my 550 then was going to see if a fork brace off a 78K would fit, it did not  :'(

We went to HF for tools and shrink wrap, etc.  On the way home we agreed to ditch the motorcycle building day and go out to see Avatar. :D

Good idea Kit, I'm just waiting for my youngest boy to get home from Hockey, then we're going to see Avatar, I saw it a week ago in 2D, but he's got free tickets to go see it in 3D, so that should be pretty cool, as long as I can wear the 3D glasses over my specs, ha ha! I think I wish it was snowing, I'm sitting here in my shorts and T shirt with the cooler going flat out, and its still too damn hot! ;D

Checked the carbs again after we started it the other day, all seems well. I can't wait to get my petcock situation settled so I can run it and properly sync the carbs.

I live in SE North Carolina and it snowed about 8" on saturday. All I was able to do was step into my unheated 16 degrees garage and snap this pic of her shivering her spark plugs loose. The other two bikes are my 97 Harley Wide Glide my sons Honda CRF 250. There is snow everywhere. It looks like it will be a week before I can even get her out of the garage.
