Got my Led bulbs from SuperbrightLEDS (they actually arrived yesterday, but nobody bothered to check the mail!
) 5 red 1157s and 4 amber 1156s, both 30 led bulbs, plus a 2 post electronic flasher. Installed all the lights right away. Put new gaskets in the lamps as well. Everything worked out great except I had to remove the turn signal indicator from the dash. With it in I had a functional left turn signal, but the right flashed all the turn signals like hazard lights.
So now I'll probably be going for miles on end down the road with out a clue that my turn signal is on.
Oh well, I was thinking about putting in left and right indicators anyway.
After working on the lights, I figured the battery was run down pretty good, so I took the long way in to work this afternoon to charge up the battery. Stopped at the gas station to fill up. This older guy, from the other side of the pump, comes around and points at my bike and says, "That's a '72"
"Yes it is", I said.
"That's a rare bike", he says, "That's a 500 Four! They only made them one year then went to the 550."
I agreed that they were rare, but corrected him on the years they were made. He then went on to tell me about the '72 500 Four he used to have. Said he did ice racing with it. Put a sidecar on it and bored out the cylinders and put 750 pistons in it. We had quite a nice chat about motorcycles. Never did get his name tho.
