It's sunny here in Chicago today, but it was 47 degrees when I headed out to walk to the train at 8:30. Where's that damn global warming they promised me if I kept driving my gas sucking V8?

It was 46 degrees at 5:00 this morning and overcast with light rain.  So I rode my bike to work as always.  Get with the program Bankerdanny, ride!

Rode it to work, wasn't raining when I left, roads were OK, had several torrential downpours while I was inside lookin out, wasn't raining when I left but the roads were drenched, got almost as wet as if it were.....
Columbia river is at flood stage and I don't think it's been warm enough for the snow to melt. All we need is a nice warm heat wave to wash the whole mess to the sea....

New fork seals today, new tach cable ( first time tach has worked since purchase), and I figured out the wiring mess the PO left me in the headlight bucket! Everything works as it should.... I think.

New fork seals and brought the bike home from my sister's for good. This was the last of the mechanical work. Some minor cosmetic cleanup is all that is left.

Packed my MAC 4-1 muffler baffle with fiberglass.  It's the two opposing tubes style of baffle that's not normally packed.  I've always wondered if I had enough back pressure because I heard the original muffler systems were more restrictive.  Tech support at MAC said to secure some metal window screen over the two holes with wire, then wrap with fiberglass, and then aluminum foil around the whole thing before sliding it back into the muffler.

Seems to have worked great.  It's whisper quiet and runs as well or better than before.

I've had my KO for 3 weeks now and finally getting the carbs and pipes off so I get a closer look at everything. The right side pipes upper and lower are in pretty good shape no rust through holes only some surface rust. I wish I could say the same about the left pipes. Both upper and lower has holes, what do you think guys too far gone to try any type of  repair? I believe it's going to take a little longer than I originally thought to get her in road ready condition. But that's half the fun of it right :) :) Things it has to have before hitting the road:
Frt brakes
Rear brakes
fork seals
fork boots
caliper rebuild
m/c rebuild
tires

Replaced the two left mixture screws and re-synced the carbs on Brownie. Easiest sync so far.

Changed headset/mic from old helmet to the new helmet. Momma and I can talk and listen to the radio again. WooHoo!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Replaced my CRUSTY front signal stems, old on the left, new on the right.  These were by far the ugliest item on my bike, and I feel much better now that they're replaced.

Mounted my painted stator cover.  It was scraped up from a PO crash, so this is a significant improvement

We went for an old bike ride.  I was on the 650  MickeyX was on my 350.  We went to the Beaverton honda shop then just took the opportunity to scoot around town a bit more.  It felt SO good. :D

Started on the clutch on my CB 360 but of course I was side tracked by what appear to be an oil leak from under the sprocket cover.  Didn't really find a leak probably because I had already drained the oil.  I wasn't too upset because it gave me a chance to adjust my chain tension and get the back wheel spinning better.  It would stop spinning after barely one rotation.  She spins nice and free now.  I cleaned up the slack adjusters and axle nut real nice with a brass brush while I was there.  I managed to get every one of the 6mm phillips head screws out with out incident, they were all torqued down pretty tight. I have all of the clutch parts and the oil filter screen out.  Hopefully tomorrow I can get the thing buttoned up and ready for a test ride.

Finally got a hole in the rain, and took the 400SS for its 1st tour of the season.  They do tend to travel farther when the fuel is truned on properly. ::)  Souinds a little noisey, will have to check valves, and cam chain adjustments.

I went to Smalls Pro hardware a scored a few temporary clutch and sprocket cover bolts so I wont have to struggle with putting the old ones in later today and so I wont be stuck with a stripped screw head when the bolts that I just ordered from Z1 arrive.  I love new fasteners.

Just got done replacing my headlight.   The screw holding the trim ring on was rusted in place.  Ended up having to drill it out.  Got a stainless steal screw in there now.  Went to the auto parts store to get the headlight.  Only had two choices in 7" headlights, both halogen Sylvania's. Bought the cheaper one.  Mounted it up right there at the store.  No listing of power consumption on the box.

Sounds like the same choices I had for headlights recently.  They looked up the power for me and said it was 35W low beam and 65W high beam (if I remember correctly).

Watched mother nature give it a big time all day bath. Now that it's home for good, time to get a cover.
