Putting my HM300's back on my 750KO. Had to do some major cleaning and polishing and some minor patch work on several rust holes on Lt. pipes with some JB Weld. My repairs won't win me any awards, but that's ok I'm not trying to put together a show bike right now just a decent looking dependable CB. These are the original pipes so I want to run them as long as I can. Over all I think they rate a 6 maybe a 7 on a scale of 10. Not bad to be the 1970 pipes. That's good enough right now because I sure don't have $1000 or more for a new set right now. Also needing to relocate my ignition switch from bar mount to original under tank location on my 750 K6.

Rebuilt the pet cock on my CB 360T.  I had it all sorted, looking sweet and shiny but I got in a hurry as the storm blew in.  I put the spring between the 4 hole seal and the valve handle instead of between the valve handle and the trim piece.  Gas went everywhere.  Luckily I kept it off my cases and the storm rinsed it away.

Before...

After...

Once the storm blew thru I went back out and fixed it.

Well I've just started my CB750K6 resto, starting with a bare frame I bought from a Kiwi in Western Australia. Kiwi's (New Zealanders) are great guys and Mark (the PO) had told me that everything I bought from him would need some work, but I wasn't quite expecting this bodge:

Mark had  sent me a couple of spare rear footpeg hangers in one of the boxes, so I cut and trimmed one, ready to install:

I held my breath and started slashing away with my trusty hacksaw:

I used a piece of smaller dia steel tube as an insert to line it up, and to hold it in place:

The insert was a really tight fit, so I tapped it in with my equally trust ballpein hammer.

Once I was happy with the fit (and that I didn't have it in upside down.........) I mig welded it in and ground it back smooth, and then it was time for some drinks!

Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

G'Day Dave, I use a nylon 3M strip disc on my 7inch sander/polisher, it rips the paint (and bog, you'll be happy to know)  right off, then I just use a little bit of stripper around the filler cap and underneath. How are you gonna get those dents out? Cheers, Terry. ;D

That's a beautiful tank Dave, how the hell did you get those massive dents out? Did you weld pins into it? I bought a stud welder a few years ago when I was painting cars (2000 bucks, ouch!) and it's good, but bike tanks are buggers to get dents out of, that's why I've started splitting 750 tanks to knock the dents out from the inside. Cheers, Terry. ;D

+1 on that frame repair Terry. I'd like to know more about the splitting the tank idea. I have a few that could use it.

Today I replaced all of the 6mm phillips screws on the clutch, sprocket and stator covers on my CB360T.  I love new fasteners.  I also took that little bike out and rode it like a lady I rented.

Not all done today but in the last few days, the CL125, after a long wrestling match, New tires! Also put on a new headlight/speedo bucket and replaced the old rectifier with a brand new one. Then it was out for a short photo shoot.

finished putting pipes back on my 750KO. Need to get 2 new connectors and clamps for rear of pipes where the join and baffles. Removed frt wheel and took it to to have it mounted since there open till 5 on Sundays, but there one and only tire changer is on vacation and won't be back till Thursday. My shop is my one car garage and it's packed, my 3 bikes, my sons bike, riding mower, weight machine, tool box and of course miscellaneous junk. So I have to juggle and move stuff constantly to get things in and out. Because of lack of room I had to remount frt wheel with old tire on my KO just so I could move it to get mower out. Maybe one day I can have me a little shop beside my house that will give me some room. I need a lift, but there's no room my knees are so sore right now from all the squatting and standing up. Im either lying on the floor or sitting on a 5 gallon bucket. 20 years ago no problem, but right now my 54 year old knees are suffering from all of this. Pain or not I still have no plans of stopping, I just like tinkering with the SOHC/4's.
Is anyone else working in not so ideal conditons?

Took the 400 for a short ride.  75 miles later I got home. ;D ;D ;D  Looks like I'm getting 49mi/gal, not sure if that's good or bad for a 400, but it sure beats the truck. ;)

Decided it was time to do a twin again. Just about done with this 75 CB360T I got from a friend of member hoodleyhoo. Tomorrow comes the fuel lines and new battery and she is ready to ride. I think I will hold onto this one so my son has something to ride. At least that is the story I gave my wife.  :D  The last picture is how I found it in the back of a garage.

Thanks Larry, probably as much the hills & twisties.  Although I do find the 400 does hustle quite nicely, with a few rev's.

Started up the CB650.  Still not running on #3 though it has spark and fuel is getting into all 4 bowls.
It's the idle circuits again.  I've been trying to clean things out by letting the system sit for a few days
with Sea Foam/gas in the tank/lines/bowls, running it until it warms up and repeat.  I do NOT want to
have to take the carbs apart for a 7th time in 2 years.

Great work on the CB360T Johnie. Looking at the before picture you would never think it could be the same bike. Your bike sure brings back some good memories. I had a blue 1974 CB 360 identical to yours my last year in high school only difference my had a drum not a front disc. Good little bike never had any trouble  with it. In 1975 I traded it in on a Honda MT 250 2 stroke street trail bike. Not a smart move bike fouled plugs constantly. My last and only 2 stroke.

Started the day with some brilliant diagnostic work as I determined that my bad tach cable had in fact just worked its way loose at the tach and fallen off. Screwed it back in and it worked just fine.

Then rode a bit over 100 miles, including about 50 two-up with a friend of mine. But the ride came to a slightly early end due to a flat on the rear tire. Fortunately I was relatively close to the home a friend who came out with his trailer and picked us up.
