Retrieved my rear wheel with the new tube and rim strip. Had to fixed my binding choke cable and road it home. Tomorrow I'm up early to clean it and ride over to Rockers vs Mods.

Today I dinked around with the 350. Tomorrow I'm going to pat my 650 and thank it for not being the PITA the 350 is. ;D  It's funny, whenever I'm REALLY frustrated with it, someone will always walk by and say "What year is that? BEAUTIFUL bike!" and I end up thanking them and feeling just a little bit better about it again.

Had to make some modifications on the Tracy body to make a better fit including fiberglasing a new rear mounting bracket.
When the carbs were bracketed up to the frame a while back to give them a better hold, I was only getting 3/4 power due to carbs hitting body ::)

Now it goes super faster ;D

Parked mine side by each in the storage locker.  I'm actually working again, its a good thing because my money for bike parts is getting really low.

That's why I insist in Keihin jets, the quality control of the aftermarket stuff is just to hap hazard.

yeah, they may be too big,or too small,so you chase the wrong way, maybe at the end of a production run the bit wears down?and at the start its slightly oversize to compensate?i would expect that from china, not japan, its too un honourable.

I've only used the Keyster kits once Dave, and from memory, the quality was fine, but the problem was that ithe needle and main jet were much bigger than the OEM items? I had no joy with them so I took those carbs off and eventually sold the problem with them, they were very disappointing. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Got the 400 rearsets installed and tried my hand at mounting my own tires. While I don't want to ever do it again, I have bought the tools which means that I know there are more tire changes in my future. :P

Took the 400 to the VARAC Vintage Festival @ Mosport to meet up with some friends, and watch the old cars race.  Turned into a 230 mile round trip.  The GPS was useless, kept trying to put me on straight, boring roads.  They should have a 'bike route' option.  The 3D maps are great for finding the twisties though. 8)

A guy had one of the new Royal Enfield 500's - disks, EFI, but factory mat khaki.  Looked like a prop for a WWII film.  After I parked the SS beside it, the crowd kind of shifted. ;) :)  Amazing the number of people who had one, knew someone who did, or wished they did.

Spent yesterday swapping the good ign switch out of my non running virago into my daily, rode it to work, got there before the rain started, left after the rain stopped, had a almost flat, filled it at the station, put it on the ctr stand and rolled it around, didn't see no  nails....

+1, inquiring minds would like to know.  Road condition, rider error, cager?  The damage doesn't look to bad.  Hopefully the stator is OK, and the rest looks like it will be easily fixed.  That's a nice bike, post a list of the parts you going to need to get it back on the road.

i was coming up to a 90* right turn. started to brake and hit some loose stuff (its a mountain road). rear brake locked up and swung out left on me. then i think i flipped over the bars. i remember touching down with my foot and kinda flying off the road and into a ditch. it happened sooo fast. a gentleman stopped and helped my stand my bike up and push off the road. he even waited with me the hour and a half if took for the tow truck to get there (thanks briant!). got it towed to South Bay Cycles (tom will fix her up like new). went to hospital, all xrays checked out fine. just sore and embarrassed and bummed. :(      o well. its a life lesson. live and learn :)

Tried to sync the K5 today but my dying battery had other plans..
Got it going long enough to determine that the carbs for 3&4 are way off. 1&2 were pretty darn close.
Not unexpected after a complete rebuild.
Also put the headlight back together. Installed a new 45/45W H4 bulb.

Also, a tip.
The bolts that hold the headlight to the fork ears (BOLT, HEX. (10X25) 92101-10025-0B) are discontinued by Honda.

BUT if you go to the Honda car dealership you can get PN 93413-10025-08 which is almost an exact match.
Plus these bolts come with the lock and flat washer already on the bolt. They were about 60 cents each.
They are not chrome plated but they appear shiny zinc plated.

Now I'm off to purchase a new battery and some oil.

kcbarsos, glad you're ok!
