Runs like doggie doo doo. Oil line was leaking, thought maybe o-rings.

Changed them, still leaks, appears to be a bad oil line.

Anyone have any for sale at a budget price, as this has been a very, very low budget build?

If not have to check that online place.

Went to Maxim Honda to find stuff for the Yamaha.  Yup, they got it!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Looked at the 550K.... Picked up new throttle cables, clutch cable and throttle sleeve for the 550F and installed them.... Bike rode real well... seems to pull though... Never had that before...

It's a 4-2 that I got for $100 from a local guy, when the old 4-1 replacement was getting holes and turning for the worse.  Not sure who makes it.  Sounds pretty cool, and I never put much thought into the exhaust, other than wanting it to work:)

Hub sure looks better. Easy on that new tire for the first 50 miles or so.

I know!  Believe me, the irony of changing a tire for safety, only to be given 50-100 miles of VERY unsafe riding is not escaping me.

I tried the acetone wipe - but wasn't sure how much to do.  I might do a little soap and water with wet sand.....or just go very slow for that distance.  Problem is, in NYC, I'm going to slam on the brakes...definitely.

Finally put my center stand back on.  Almost lost it coming back from the SOHC4 relay back in April. Adjusted the chain and I am trying to track down an oil leak behind the front sprocket cover.

Spent evenings this week rebuilding ignition switch, replaced melted fuse box with the blade type. And going thru EVERY bullet connector with a wire brush, laquer thinner and grease before reassembly. That is a meditation of love! Finnish up in the morn and when every thing works right gonna add Hondamans headlight bypass wiring. I hope it solves the melt problem.

Pulled the old girl out of the garage today.  First time she's seen daylight in at least 3 months.  Hooked up the battery, pulled the choke, turned the key (no electrical fires) and crossed my fingers.  3rd kick she fired up!  Not road ready, but getting close.  Just need to finish the headlight and front brake.  After that a good carb sync and tune up.  I hope there lots of nice weather left, I'm jones'n for some riding.

Pulled and went through the carbs again, looking for whatever might be causing my 1/8 throttle burble.  No luck, everything is as it should be.  Sync'ed them and set the air bleeds to 1-3/8 out.  The burble is still there.  I blame the crappy aftermarket 4-into-2 exhaust that came on the bike.  The search for a solution goes on...

Also rebuilt and installed an eBay GL1000 master cylinder.  On dual disks the difference is AMAZING!  Two finger stopping, almost feels modern.  The brakes will easily overpower the 2" of fork travel I have.

Changed my fork oil last night. Man, that old oil looked like milk and smelled like, BAD!!
Fresh 15W in, very nice response on the forks now.

Took the bike out for a test ride after some adjustments I made. Was coming home on a small one way street in my neighborhood, then all of a sudden some jackass swerves into the one way street to get to his house. He's coming right at me and coming fast. About 100 feet away from me, I down shift quickly, put on the rear brake and start skidding. Giving a little pressure to the right, I coast up onto the side walk, just missing this moron. I look behind me, and he pulled into his house, Literally right behind me. I put the bike in neutral, run up to him and yelled at him, I'm pretty sure I scared the #$%* out of him, because his cigar flew out of his mouth and on to the floor of his 280z. After me telling him how much of a dumb-ass he really is, I got on the bike and went home. Parked, went into the garage, started thinking and laughed.

For being my second day riding a street bike and only having a rear brake at the time, I think I handled the situation pretty well.

Got into my new extra set of carbs, noticed the brass arm on one of the floats was warped. Tried to bend it back to shape and broke the arm.

Normally that would have angered me but I happened to have a new float in my moto parts cabinet (when you order a "float set" from bike bandit this means one float and one pin....I knew it seemed too reasonable a price  ::)) ) so I slapped that on and got all the floats set to 26mm. Ready to be slapped on.

Messed around with the front blinkers.
It's interesting, I have two sets of front blinkers both from 750K5's.
One set has steel arms and the other set has aluminum arms. I don't know which set is newer.
The aluminum ones came on a K5 with a build date of 11/74 but I'm not sure they're original.
The aluminum arms are a couple of ounces lighter than the steel ones. I guess Honda was trying to shave some weight!

Then I contemplated my idiot lights.....
I have two sets, one with ok rubber but completely rusted.
The other set has usable sockets but the rubber is shot.
Of course the rubber is molded to the socket soooo what to do?
Hmmm, well we'll see.

100 PSI on my stuck caliper piston.  Still stuck.  Ran hot water over the caliper body, 2nd round.  Shot it across the patio.  I win.
