Fixed charging problem on my K1 (ground wire broken), adjusted float on #1, installed Hondaman ignition, painted seat pan, spent $134 on parts and went for a ride.

Replaced the $60 melted tribar headlight with a $10 H6024.  No, it's not as cool, but it works, and that's all the cool I need.

Walked by it and gave it a real sour look. She let me down last night on the way home from a 20 mile putt. About 12 miles into it....started running on 2 cylinders  (turned into a 375 twin!!!) Crossed the fingers and made it home the next 8 miles. 1 & 4 pipes warm .....2 & 3 on fire!!. Hope its just a loose connect but will wait till Saturday to troubleshoot. We was runnin' like a champ till that cropped up!! :( :( :( :(

Check the condenser first.  Switch them around to see if the problem is now on the other two cylinders.  Could be a coil too but less likely.

I took off the clubmans and stock gauges, mocked up the dunstall clip-ons and then took a photo and touched up the shot to see how it will look after I cut the back end of the frame - trying for some clean air between the seat and wheel.

I'm constantly inspired by the people and bikes on this forum while getting more and more excited about my next move with this bike..

I really like the seat.. Where did you get it?

Thanks,  unfortunately I don't deserve any credit for it. It's a Guliari seat, I'm pretty sure they made them in the 70's. I think someone is selling a repro on fee bay.

got the motor back in just now. need to find all the hardware, even though it was bagged right away i seem to be missing some bits :( . and i only chipped the paint on the points cover ( which i knew was going to happen(didnt really prep it right)) and one valve cover bolt, so a bit of touch up paint and im set. also put the airbox and wiring back on. so close yet so far from being done.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Those look WAY better than the repro one I saw, I think it was from Vietnam or something... I'll have to find out if RR can make a repro cover for mine. I know Guiliari made a few different styles.

Spent most of the day building a new front wheel - shouldered alloy rim, stainless steel spokes and nipples all from Buchanan's.  Only took me three attempts to get it right,  but it's all done including truing.  Still need to grind down some spokes and get a new tire and tube.

Started reading Mark Paris' book. Went out and looked at my "new old" Cb750 head and found all the problems mentioned in the book.  Started filing flashing on air passages between the cylinders.  When I'm more rested and the honey-do list is under control, will start working on the intake ports.

Installed a new seat cover from ebay.  Somewhat disappointing with the results.  It was a lot of work and needed to paint the pan too.  Should have bought a new seat from Honda.

Got my tank back from Fabricator today, he really went the extra mile for me.  He brazed all the holes in it, and then he brazed it all back together.  It has it's first coat of Redkote drying as I type this.  I'm gonna do one more coat tomorrow for good measure.

Rode it 55 miles round trip to my old man's place out in the country...  Very nice drive, and the bike got me there and back.  Can't ask much more than that.
I know you guys will laugh, but my longest ride (ever) and I feel like she (and me) were just getting dialed in when I got back home.  No one home to share with, the wife and kids went to the beach without me... Damn work!
