On my '75 550K did a thorough wash and for the first time time wax in three years. Boy, did it make that flake sunrise shine! She's all original and in great condition with just1 10K miles. I consider myself lucky to own her. Also did a 40 mile short ride before the thunderstorms came.
On the '75 750k 5 was about to rebuild the front brake caliper. Was off, cleaned and ready to go, but put off reinstall and ordered some Dow Corning Vacuum grease, highly recommended. OK, I'll wait a week to get back on the road. The last stuff I used, the hi-temp silicone stuff in the tiny packets at autozone ruined the last break rehab. It melted, got absorbed by the brake pads, caused them to swell ever so slightly causing brake dragging. At least that's my analysis. It was hard not to just put the caliper back together and go, but patience, Grasshopper. I don't want to do this again for awhile-- I mean years.
