soda blasted and then painted the whole motor. The 15lbs soda blaster from harbor freight is money well spent.

Changing the fork seals.  Will get as far as refilling with fork oil as can't grab that until tomorrow.

Why I am not a mechanic:
So I get a new oil pressure switch for the 750 after waiting over 3 weeks for it to come from Silvers via airmail – clearly they still fly sopwith camels, or it was shot down over Libya and continued the journey in a tank or a boogy board bag.   The old one was leaking like a sieve.
I go out to the shed with the intention of replacing it. Life is good.
The nut on the top that holds the wire on is 7mm, and that has to come off before you can turn the whole switch body.
I haven’t got a 7mm ring/open spanner.
I go to the auto shop – neither have they, ffs, so I end up buying a cheap set of spanners that included 6 and 7, which I had neither of but might come in handy one day when I attempt to build a small remote controlled aircraft to take up the UK to Aus mail run .
I get back home and after fiddling with the hard plastic cover thingy (that covers the top of the switch and the wires) to get it out of the way (requiring the removal of the starter motor cover) I finally get a spanner onto the nut in a tight squeeze, and start turning, feeling pretty good about things. This won’t take a minute.
Then I notice the whole internal body of the switch (ie the internal plastic bit) is turning with the nut (which is probaly why it's leaking), and no amount of effort from me with the pliers to hold that bit while I turn the nut makes any difference, cos I only have 2 hands, bigger than a little Jap’s, and I am becoming more uncoordinated and disyxlec with age  ::).
So then I think, ok, I’ll attempt to undo the entire body and worry about the little nut after (which was never going to work cos the wires would prevent me from getting even one full turn anyway, but by this stage I was losing all sense of reason, my knees were aching and I was losing it).
So then I discover that I haven’t got an open spanner that will fit, or a shifter that would fit into the gap, to undo that anyway, and of course I can’t get a ringy or a socket over it cos the f*****g wires are still on it.
I think one spanner is now at the bottom of the lake opposite my house.
So I put another piece of rag up into the wire cover to soak up the leaking oil, put the starter motor cover back on, put all my useless tools away, and pushed the bike back into the shed and said f**k it.
This is why I am not a mechanic.
I will now take the bike and the new switch to the bike shop and say “please fix”. I pay. Life will be good again.

That was my exact feelings when I tried to use the Morgan Carbtune. I was able to get two side to sync but then nothing else... Or the other two would be somewhat close and the two that were good wouldnt.. After several attempts and the bike finally not staying running, I gave up.. Brought it to the shop that has been doing great work on my other bikes and now just waiting to see what they say...

Beautiful day for a ride into the ol "Salt Mine" called work today. The only thing that made it enjoyable was the K3  ;)
Will be tooling home with it for a casual 34 mile jaunt at noon today.

Put on a new gas cap seal so spilling gas won't ruin my new paint.
And rode it in 110 degree weather.

Adjusted the point gap, timing, and synched the carbs on the K2 with my dad today. It ran good before but certainly runs better and smoother now :) Can't wait to take it for a longer ride tomorrow.

Had broken the 002 and 003 tines on my gap tool by bending them too much trying to fit them into the tappet hole. Took out the remaining length of the tines and grinded tips back on em, taped them onto little makeshift L brackets which I taped onto both ends of a popsicle stick  ::)

I would have just bought the tool from Z1 but 9$ shipping on a 5$ tool is no good.

Rode the 400, with Swoop & his Sandcast, over to Bellfountain by way of the 'Forks'.  TSN was there shooting footage for next season's programs.  Seems they had enough footage of '750's', so #3xx didn't make the cut. :o  However the 400 did, and I got to do a short interview. 8)  Was warned it will probably be even shorter by the time the editor gets through.  My Andy Warhol 15 minutes, is more likely to be 15 seconds. ::)

I put a new chain on my daily rider, a 75 550f, I have been getting a lot of noise and having a hard time keeping it adjusted.

When I laid the two chains side by side to shorten the new one to fit, I noticed that the old chain was so loose that if you pulled it tight it was a full 2 links longer and if you pushed it back together they were the same  length. (using the same number of links)

It is the stock chain but it  has less than 12000 miles on it

Split the cases today, here is the primary chain wear. Definitely hitting the oil gallery from the pump to the oil filter. Now I get to wait on parts.

" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

put the engine in and mounted up the rear-sets, wheels and kickstand.

What bars did you use on your bike?  They appear to be drag bars....but longer than the standard ones you find everywhere.
yep..dragbars. Looks like they raised the price since I bought them. I might end up putting a set of Superbike bars on it, but going to ride it as is for a while and see how I like them.
