Spent the last few days finishing up a couple of old projects that had been lingering in the back of the shop for well over a year and a half. 74 and 75 CB750K's. Woke them up and rode them for the first time since buying them.Nice clean carbs, brakes etc. They run nice. Sold a 75 CB750F recently and think I will sell these also to somebody who can keep going on them. For some reason my wife thinks 18 750's is to many + the other stuff . Really need to thin out the herd and just keep the 100% stockers and let the young guys have some projects :)   Eric

I really like the green one... very nice
Hey Tews , I think we need to get you to the Doctor. The 75 with the 4-1 pipe is Planet Blue. LOL

Gave the 550 & 400 a new stable mate, pick'd up an 85 750 Interceptor with 11K miles for $1K.  Safety & licence tomorrow, and on the road for the weekend. 8)

I'm practicing my - 'but officer, the therapist said gripping & twisting my right hand was good therapy'.  It's going to be the touring bike, but I had an 83, so I understand the 'I was going how fast?' part. ;) :)

Quick History-another back room project
Bought this 72 750 last summer cheap, good paint (see tins pic),original pipes ,Lester mags with 18" rear, progressive shocks etc. Had been in a minor accident but broke both upper and lower case around points.Had 76,000 + miles on engine, looked great inside though when I scrapped and salvaged.
Big Bore Engine I just dropped in was bought 2 years ago quite reasonably. Bought from Son of deceased fellow who had it in a bike that he rode to and ran at a local strip,Martin Dragway back in the day.Came with Andrew coils, cool tank, pipes and boxes of other bits and pieces still left after front end was damaged . Sat for a long time in storage but was told it was a runner Hmm we have heard that before.
Well so far so good, engines runs and sounds good, rode it for a few miles so far.Plan is to clean original jetted carbs, tune and get running better, ride it around this fall to loosen it up well and pull it this winter to get rid of the corroded chromed covers, clean , repaint and maybe get a little peek inside.Got his old Clymer's with notes and such but still not sure if its an RC or Action Fours package.Son had no clue.Clutch feels like a Barnett he had listed though, pretty stiff. If all good though will not remove cylinder,to risky breaking or finding rings.   Fun Stuff

Opened a box to find a brand new, just made, ported cylinder sleeve.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Mocked up my new handlebar design (that I stole from Bratstyle).  Just need to have them welded up.

well, started out by hooking up the throttle cables.  Cheap-azz motionpro cable installed by the PO broke. @#$#*&! >:(
Undaunted I pressed on.  I pulled the cam tensioner, something (duh) I should have done before I put the motor in the frame, because I suspected it was stuck...and it was.

Reinstalled that and moved on to the big sync.  Which went rather smoothly compared to the first time I tried it.
Then, after more than two years and more time & money than care to relate here, I rode it!  :D

Bahahahaha!!  Blasted up and down the road for several runs to shake it out.
Took it up to the red line, the speedo that is, and it ran pretty darn good!
(It ought to, it's damn near a new bike now!)
Need to adjust the brakes... and the clutch but overall it sounded great!
Cycleranger is one damn happy camper today! ;D ;D

Now to go spend more money and order a new throttle cable!

Oh yeah, and I put the crap seat on there for the test runs. I have a stock seat to put there.

Not my bike, but something kind of cool. Buddy dropped this off for me to get running yesterday.
Air cooled outboard...sort of ::) He got it for free, not run in 10 years?

DSCN0183 by seaweb, on Flickr

Pulled out the gas tank to pour out the syrup that was in there. Dropped all carb bits in cleaner and went to find a mini spark plug. Went to the lawnmower guy on Island and Bingo, he has one. Pulled some clear hose from an old truck windshield washer to replace the fuel line that was clogged.
After 4 hours in cleaner I pulled it all out cleaned and blew through all jets. Put the son of a #$%* back together and it started and idled on the 2 pull ;D ;D ;D ;D

                            1 day turn around service;)

If you want to go in reverse, you rotate the whole damn thing on it's axis and hold the back of the motor with both hands. :o
