Tied back the clutch lever to leave the clutch actuated and the let the plates "soak" since yesterday.
My clutch has been dragging since I unstuck it after the engine sat for years.
Took the bike for a run around the subdivision tonight and sonofagun if it didn't seem to help!

It shifted smoother and I could actually find neutral at the stop signs. I had to adjust the cable at the lever too.
Anyway, another SOHC forum tip pays off!

(But I still have a new clutch pack on order..)

Drove about 40 miles on the 550K, then was finally able to remove the engine and sway bar from the frame of the 550F..... Now let the fun begin...........

Finally finished the luggage bar for my 750, just in time for Barber. It's crude, and ugly but will get the job done till I can find a nicer setup for an F bike.

Riding to Barber, better look at the bike..... !, took the petcock apart and cleaned its passages ( not much rust ). Put the tank back on, gas back in and went inside the house to grab my lid....
'Just goin' around the block Sweetie to try it out '... ( Code for; riding to the gas station to get beer

).... cleaned and polished some of the chrome fueled with 'garage beers'..

Took the frame and all the black bits into the painter.

Yes, it's even uglier in person. The guy said he couldn't get it to start after he ran it out of gas. I brought it home, put gas in it, and it started after a bit of kicking. You just gotta love tweaker redneck weirdos. I'm going to give it a tune up while it's still in the ugly bike, then swap it into my F3.

First modification, put on bar end mirrors and took those huge old things off. The bar ends work great, better than the stock mirrors.

Almost got killed on mine today. An old fart pulled out in front of me. I knew I was going to hit him dead center. Hit the brakes hard and thought real quick about swerving around behind him.
He slammed on his brakes and stopped two thirds across the lane. I let off the brakes and swerved in front of him instead. Ended up clipping his front end slightly and managed not to cross into the on coming traffic. Pulled off the road and shut it down. Found some black plastic and white paint rubs on my right side saddlebag trim. He had pulled off the road on the other side and came running over to see if I was OK.

Apparently his wife had been yelling at him and the distraction made him miss seeing me. She saw me and yelled at him to stop. He did and I survived with only a little bit of paint and rubber added to my chrome.

Re-routed the clutch cable on my 750F. I've got euro bars so there's some extra cable there and it's rubbing a bit. Also makes some weird - but not too tight - bends. Feels better... still need to get a shorter one though.

again i walked past the fork lower that i can't seem to finish. first one polished up nicely, but took a few hours over a few days. got about 2 hours into this one but can't get juiced to finish. but yesterday got a call from my local ma/pa shop said my fork seals and motul fork oil is in. better get started....................

When I was restoring my CB400 I put in a Barnett clutch because I found one on Ebay. Always had problems with a sticky clutch. After reading a post on the site regarding clutch improvement for a over-bored 400 I realized that the stock clutch might work better. Yesterday I finished replacing the Barnett components and what improvement. Thanks forum!
