Hope you like the rear sets, with the folding ones you can still use your kick starter, all you have to do is fold the peg, pull a pin in the linkage and swing the brake pedal out out of the way, put the pin back and ride on. A little time consuming, but doable.
Why would you go through all that stuff???
Simpler than it sounds.

Called in a favor with the machine shop and got a heli-coil installed in the stripped drain plug hole of one of the XL250S fork lowers.

Spent the day winterizing the herd, drained gas from 5 tanks and carbs, then stored them in the basement so I could have room for the three jobs coming in the next two days...Larry

Anyone have any interest in a couple CZ's and three redone 400 fours?

Rode into Flint today to pay the car and bike insurance.  Since I was out there anyway, I stopped by Franks and bought a new clutch cable.  When I get around to it, I'll be sure to lube the hell out of it before I install it. ;)

Rode it and continued polishing engine parts.  45 degree weather with darkness at 6 pm won't keep me off it, you'll have to try harder nature.

Oh CRAP!! Don't piss off Mother Nature!  Michigan is too close to Ohio and I don't wana get caught up in the overspray!!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Adjusted the valves. Managed to break TWO tapped covers. One was a brand new one (possibly fault) that just snapped off in the threads. Thankfully I got it out without tools. The other one cracked from age. Replaced them with the two that I replaced because the heads were stripped.

Then I got frustrated that doing so barely made a difference.

Decided to adjust the breaker points. WOW that made a huge difference. Thought I got it running perfectly at 1200rpm. Sounded nice, wasn't dying or bogging down. Took it for a ride around the neighborhood, flying down the street, 10k rpm. Huge smile on my face.

Then I got home, and my dad pointed out that the choke was all the way on. :'(

Stock airbox + MAC 4-1 exhaust (they say that won't require a rejet) = running lean, even with the a/f screws 2.5 turns out.

Now I have to move the jet needle clip down a notch, maxing it out. Hopefully that makes enough of a difference that it'll run rich enough without choke. If not I'll have to either reuse my 120 and/or 45 jets, or get slightly bigger jets, maybe 105/110 and 42.. Probably going to order their float bowl replacement screws (jetsrus) as well, since most of mine are stripped in one direction or another, making it hard to turn with the carbs still on (because I'll be damned if I have to take off my carbs anymore. That stock airbox is a REAL pisser (at least the boots aren't rock hard)). Anyone think 120/45 jets will be too rich for just an aftermarket exhaust?

I'll be adjusting the ignition timing as soon as the bike cools down, as well as the jet needle.

I just want to ride :(
