Finished up priming my tins and plastics.

I've been trying to order the Spraymax 2K from 66autocolor with an orange color, and they keep coming back saying they can't do the codes I've been sending them.

I kind of like the color that 78whiteorbs used in his thread, thanks for the link bro.....so that is what I went with.

A little more expensive than he paid. I ended with a little above 30 bucks for a can.

Will see how it comes out for me.

Got a box of new parts for the XL250s.
Now I've got to clean up and rebuild the XL250s carb and replace some spokes on the rear wheel and continue the rebuild.

Also got a nice original seat and rust-free grab bar and rear blinkers for the CJ360T.  :)

I had a bugger of a job stripping the entire front end off a bike with no centre stand. I had to  completely remove the Yoshimura  exhaust so I could temporarily replace the centre stand (thank God I didn't cut the brackets off.....) then jack the front of the engine up and strap the back of the bike down to get the front end up in the air.

Anyway, just about all done now, I just need to go thru some boxes today to find a set of headlight brackets so I can finish it and get it out on the road. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah I know Fred, I am a whore, and I like bike parts too. Ooh and I like beer too Dave, but believe it or not, that was apple juice in that glass........ ;D

Anyways, I put the ol' girl back together again, and took it for a short ride. I would have gone further but I realised that I'd forgotten to tighten a couple of fairly unimportant things like the top triple and the fender stays, so I came home, tightened things up, washed it and came inside for a grandpa nap. I was gonna mow the lawn, but hell, that can wait! ;D

Thanks Mick, surprisingly it feels really good. Last time I had those bars on it it was awful, but the new Tarozzi rearsets make it feel like a totally different proposition, almost 70's era European. No steering lock of course, but like I said, 70's era European..........  Cheers, Terry. ;D

Stripped the old wrinkle paint off the next carb experiment...

... and spent some time on the 'net looking at Mikuni TM40 carbs and Keihin Harley CV40 carbs to work out which carb to get for the manifold.

Fcuked if I know Dave, but as long as it's strained thru a K&N filter, it's gotta be good! ;D

Went for another illegal ride (no insurance, registration).

Man she rides good. Started running out of gas, shut dwon started pushing......three miles to nearest gas station. sheeeeesh.

Pulled the tank and turned it to the left to drain all traces of gas and fumes to the petcock, she fired up, got to the station coasting.

Man what fun.

Hopefully your tank is totally clean and nice on the inside.Running it out of gas or even on reserve can pull any crud that may be in the bottom into your petcock and possibly your carbs.Better to keep it full than empty.  Glad a Cop didn't happen to stop in and 'help' you.

replaced 2/3 spark plug caps, also replaced the front brake pads, SBS ceramic... i dunno what was on the old pads, but in the rain i could stop faster if i put my feet down. was hoping the plug caps might help the 3-4k rpm constant throttle, and roll on throttle hesitation, which seems to get worse the hotter the bike gets, they measured 15kohm plus.... but alas, no. i thought it might have been the carbs, but it 'feels' to on/off, like its dropping cylinders, and 2,3 are the only ones that still run black after float set/carb balance. am really hoping that my dyna 's' is not on its way out.....

so busy morning

Rinsed the rust out of the gas tank. Then watched it turn orange. YAY.
