Chasing an oil drip.  Degreased the engine (probably first time ever cleaned in 35+ years), and now getting ready to spray with foot powder to find where my little drip originates from...what a messy job.  Finished a valve job last week and now my bike starts on first kick every time (had HondaMans ignition installed so I'm certain that has more to do with the starting than my valve adjustments but I like to think I had a hand in it).  After I find that oil drip its off to change the oil and filter...

Fabbed some nylon spacers for the XL250 headlight bucket since the metal ones were missing.
Installed the bucket and continued plugging away at the bike.
Installed most of the controls and cables. It's getting close! :)

Picked up all the black painted bits from the spray shop. Look great. Will post pix when I start the re-assembly.

That's a nice looking R75 in the background mate, if you're hurting for space in your garage, you can send that one to me, I'll look after it for you! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Rode to work this morning.  Fog, mist and rain.  Suppose to be turning to rain/snow mix then over to snow this afternoon.  Was 40F this morning, now its 38F.  The wife doesn't want me to take the bike to work this afternoon. We'll see.

Looked at her longingly in the garage as I parked the car next to her after work....then went into house to find my new helmet had arrived.  Bell Revolver....It's a modular that actually looks decent (and not goofy like most of them do) and has an inner flip down visor.  Been eyeing it for a while (mostly because of the rally stripe design) and they have come down to about $100 most places online, so I grabbed one.   ;D

Wish I could go out and test it on the road, but too cold here today for my taste.

Not to mention WINDY!

Helmet looks great! I'll be going modular this year as well.

You're not kidding.....I think the wind chimes on the front porch are going to fall apart...they're making so much noise.  Crazy weather here in IN today.  Went from near 60F with thunder/lightening this morning to 35, windy, and chance of flurries.  Geesh. ::)

That the one from Thailand?  How's the quality?  I have the same VDO gauge for the pressure.

Well, I did take a second ride today, but only to the bank.  I just couldn't take the chance on the weather this afternoon, so instead of Honda I took Jeepie.  Good thing I did.  About halfway threw my afternoon runs the rain changed to snow.  Real heavy snow and the roads turned white real quick and visibility was very poor.  It was still snowing when I got home.

Well it was 4degrees F today and I realized that it was unlikely that I would get my CB 400 on the road until spring. My 500 and 350 had already been put to bed.  I finally removed the battery and brought it to the basement to put on the trickle charger until spring. It is a #$%* to live in the northeast.

Since I am rebuilding the front brake system on the 550F I decided to replace the 35 year old brake lines with a nice set of stainless brake lines from a member I got my 650 lines from.

Hi Greggo,

...nope! it isn't from Thailand it is from Taiwan and the quality is good.
I checked the temp with a digital equipment and it is 100% correct, I could not find any mark for the oil level but that is no problem, I have a good laser @work :)
Would like to check the VDO gauge @the weekend and how the temp gauge/dip stick will fit too.

Have a good one...Georg
