PM Tweakin and find out?  He has a build thread I am sure.  Might be in there too.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

What I did to my bike today was the same thing I've been doing for a couple weeks now -- procrastinating the hell out of myself. The thing holding me back at the moment is the cylinders/pistons. Everything is out, but for some stupid reason I'm stuck on whether or not to hone and get new rings. Yeah I know: check the tolerances, and at any rate I've got the engine out so might as well, but... Just being lazy.

I need to either:
- find out/figure out how to properly hone the cylinders; or
- put the cylinders in a box and continue on down into the rest of the engine.

Sometimes I have a hard time getting motivated. Farg.

Thanks Bob.  No, I am not really concerned about throwing a rock into the cooler and this bike doesn't see too many bad weather day rides.  I understand the purpose of the front fender but have never lived them.

The seat pan and cowl are from Airtech, the seat was made by a local upholstery shop in Seattle, WA called Mac's.

Picked up the necessary parts to rebuild the petcock on the 72 as well as a locking tank latch for it, now I just need to pull a dent on it...

Yeah, what you gonna use for a fork brace?

May used part of the old fender. Or I've seen 'em for about $100.

No fender or brace on my 550, and handles remarkably well.

Dismantled brake caliper - love the grease gun trick- cleaned it and primed it. Installed studs for the exhaust and painted the frame were i banged it taking the old one off.
Polished brake piston also screwed up and bought wrong set of brake pads:(
Got new clutch lever from dimecity, love it but the cable is too short now.

Well I was having a pretty good day installing a new .50 over piston in the XL until.....
I obtained a new head I was going to install.
The PO left the plug in it and when I went to remove it so I could clean up the head...
After spending some time on it I don't know if it's going to come out. (At least without trashing the threads.)
I may have to use my old head after all. :(
*sigh*
A side note, it takes a lot heat to heat an item designed to be a heat sink!

I would put something inside that open section of the plug remains and soak over night with penetrine or something similar, then use an easy out or notch the inside of the plug and use a large screwdriver with a clamp on the handle to twist out whats left... Heat may even help...

Um, yeah, there's a bit less metal there now than there was when I took the picture. ::)
I'm going to play with it some more tomorrow and if it doesn't come out I'll take in to the machine shop at work.
Those guys have all the cool tools.
