More work on Ken's K1 this weekend, blasted and painted the swingarm, fitted new chain and sprockets, new Hagon shocks and a new Bridgestone BT45 rear tire.



Although the bike's only done 5000 miles from new, it was missing and farting, so I checked the points, and yep, they were stuffed.



So they came out, and a good used Dyna S went in.



I then fired it up, and it's now silky smooth!

All in all, a good day, the back end is all fixed, next up, the front! Cheers, Terry. ;D

..... And I failed miserably at making a paint plug for my 650 gas tank.  Neither size stopper that I tried would expand enough to plug the neck AND I dropped it in the tank twice.  The pics look like I nailed it but I didn't.

What did you do to your bike today ?

Had to hammer a seat pin out and use PB blaster. It was bent and really rusted. Filed it down and bent it back. Seat is mounted so now it won't move while I am carving and sanding the foam.

Added ATF/Acetone mix to the cyl's. Had a breaker bar on the alternator bolt. It ain't moved a bit. I'll try again next weekend.

Yeah I messed with it a bit more today and decided to take it to the shop and see what they can do with it.
That plug had been way over-tightened and it may just be a lost cause. We'll see.
Then I took the K5 out for a ride since the sun came out today. :)

looking great stev-o...goto be happy with that.

me, hit the whole bike with mr sheen, then went for a poser ride down the esplinard in cairns...lol

then spent the next 3/4 of an hour chatting to people who had/have/knew someone that had an old honda/Z9/Z1/waterbottle  lol...

love getting out on a classic, and i love talking to people who love them as well...all in all a great day was had.

G'Day Georg, yeah, a friend of mine (and an ex-member here) "lightly" used it then took the bike back to stock before he sold his K2. He's also got some excellent Koni shocks to sell me, but I'm not buying anything until I find out what the Triumph will cost me. Your Dyna S looks like the older model, but if it's still working, use it, they're a great ignition. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Sunday around noon good member Sean @Seanbarney on his 750 cafe,a good friend of mine on his Kaw 900 and myself met up at my shop and took a cruise in some nice balmy,sunny 32 degree weather to check out a get together for a local VJMC Chapter of which none of us are members.Hung out with Ray@ K5owner and talked some bike talk with the other nice fellas and checked out a Guys new interesting vintage shop. Think I may join. Needless to say we were the only ones who 'rode' in.      Eric

Take good care of that airbox. It's the rare/transitional 1969-only airbox. Tough to find if you break it.

Eric, it was good meeting up with you & Sean. Hearing & sharing some of the bike stories was great. Its amazing how many miles you guys have put on your 750's.

Thanks to Charlie & Ted for hosting the get together. They have a great shop. A Big thanks to Mike Blevins (VJMC), for getting us together.

Look forward to the next one.

...only the K2 has a Dyna, rest of my bikes I put this one.
It has a very save circuit and a kind of timing light includet  8)

Snowing last night and got enough to cover ground. But today it got near 50 and all main roads are clear so the KO got to go out for a late day cruise ;D Hadn't been started in a couple of weeks but fired right up and was ready to go 8)
