Being a tightarse, I decided against trailering my newest aquisition, a lovely BMW R100RS, back from Tom's house. Instead, I'm borrowing a mate's "Trade Plate" so I can rifde it home. So tonight I went over to Tom's to get it going, after it sat in his garage for 4 years.
Tom had pulled a few parts off it for various reasons, so I put them all back on again, replaced the knackered fuel lines, and checked that it had some sparks, and filled the tank with fresh 98 RON fuel. All good. Sadly, to turn over a 1000cc twin you need a big-arse battery, but the one in it is buggered, so I tried my little jump starter pack, but it didn't last long, so we gave up and drank beer for awhile.
I got home and put another battery (out of my riding mower) on the charger, plus a CB750 battery, plus my little jump starter pack on charge, so tomorrow it will fire straight up, woohoo! Tomorrow, we shall ride!
