HOARDER!!!!!  :)

+1....I know the feeling!  Love the crates, great idea, I have a need for those too.

I wanna help unload some of that stuff for ya.  Just kidding.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Productive day in maduncle's shed.

Between rebuilding my steampunk rocket pack and restoring an old industrial lamp for my wife's shop, I managed to strip and polish the CL450 top triple, and strip and prep the lower triple for powder coating.

I have been thinking about how to cover the section of pitted fork tube between the triples, without using stock 'ears'.

Has anyone ever found 35mm ID stainless or chrome plate tube for sleeving forks?

Some have mentioned using chrome plumbing pipe, there is a size that is close.

Great idea.  I am starting to get a few engine scattered around in the garage.  Might need to do something similar to stay organized.

Rode to the local Harley shop for free food and drink.

I used to work at a Plumbing Supply house and we sold 1-1/4"x 12" chromed tube that would be just right if you cut a slit lengthwise for it to expand around the fork. We also sold 1-1/2"x 12" that would work too, but you would need to bush that some how, perhaps with old fork seals. The 1-1/4" would stay in place on it's own and you could turn the slit toward the inside, out of site.

Yeah, I know, the top one is a DOHC ( :o ) that found its way in. Soon as I can find a home for it its gone! Anyone need a 79' 750 DOHC engine? Free to good home... (minus the crate)
Ya know, the one you'll need next will be the one on the bottom. ;D

Still, a good idea and looks good too. ;)

Set the valve lash, changed the plugs, checked cam chain adj, synced the carbs and it's running great. My wife and I just got back from a 20 mile ride.

Looks good Cliff. Re: the fork covers, try Capral Aluminium in Campbellfield, they sell aluminium tube in lots of sizes, or Handy Steel Stocks in West Heidelberg might have some 35mm ID exhaust tube? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I sorted out my unique horn.  It  would honk only on steering hard right,  which is highly impractical in real traffic situations:)

The wiring is full of patches, I  will need to repair/rebuild it  for good, when I have the final handlebars and turn signals.

Fitted my replacement rear fender.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
