Got home from working outta town late yesterday afternoon and had a little time on my hands. Stopped by the Honda shop and picked up a couple parts I had ordered. One was the 58mm o-ring for the front wheel speedo drive. Woohoooo, now I can finish the front wheel. So I installed the fender, caliper and wheel.

I grabbed my front end parts stash and got started on the bars. Fought with the wiring and bars for the left control and called it a night before I butchered anything too badly.

I'm still waiting on bits and pieces so what you see if not finished. The fender needs to be mounted properly still but hey, it's looking good! May be a bike soon  ;D

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Back out to the garage late this morning to continue the front end. While the previous picture was actually after I'd made progress today it was time to keep moving forward. I continued my struggle with the bars but the right side was MUCH easier to thread it's wiring through the bars. Upon analyzing the situation I discovered the aftermarket bars I got from Sudco were the correct bars but the holes were ~ 3mm smaller in diameter! Now I find out  ::) So now I'm at the point where the rest of the front end needs to go together. Out come more new and NOS parts from my stash.

I was able to complete the front end mock up this afternoon but trying to determine how all the wires and cables are routed is a serious #$%*! Thankfully the Honda shop manual has some diagrams that really help.

Time to back off and regroup for my next assault. I really need that new rear sprocket to get it up on 2 wheels! What to do now? Can't really do the electricals until my new electrical panel shows up from England. Looking around I decided to tackle the rear brake master cylinder etc. So out comes my NOS stash again as well as some spares.

The 2 NOS masters with the nylon reservoirs are apparently for Gold Wings while the full aluminum is a late 75 or 76 CB750F. The way I have determined this is the F's have the hose running at a 90o angle as it exits the master vs straight out for the Wing. You'll notice the hose stop vs no hose stop. I'm seriously tempted to use the NOS Wing master even without a stop since my original master, which you'll also see, has the nylon cup found on the first 2 months production runs.

Anyway, looks like tomorrow is rear brake assembly day as well as rear grab bar install and tail light etc. I'll be back  ;)

Put a new Clutch, Push and Pull Throttle cables on the K3 today. Man I love the way new cables "feel". Still don't like the way the "Push/Return" feels, it has a bit of "play" to it in the throttle handle. Am going to put a new plastic throttle tube on it and see if that "cures" it. Anyone else have this "play" before and after replacing the cables?

Seems to me you can adjust the A cable to where there is no play at all, which is incorrect. Then you'd back it off to where there is just a touch of play, as you don't want the B cable interfering with the pull of the A.

So to answer your question, yes the play should exist and you should adjust it to where it suits you. Do not adjust so far that there is no play.

So you can click the throttle back and forth between tightening the A and B cables. That's the play you speak of?

If you think about it, that play is only felt at idle as when you turn the throttle its full tension in the A cable because of the return spring, and what happens in the B cable is not relevant.

Switched out my turn signals for some that I think are nicer looking.
Each side would light up but not flash.  Checked and made sure everything
was grounded properly.  Still no flash, so I came here and searched for a
solution.  Turns out the bulbs in the new signals and my old mechanical
flasher did not get along.  Picked up a Tridon EP35 electronic flasher with
three prongs.  Wired it up: green to negative, black to positive, and grey
to lamp.  Now all lights are flashing as they should, thanks to this site.

Started  my bike for the first time in 20 years. I'm a happy bunny.

Congrats Lester!  I think you should disconnect the charger once you've gotten the bike started however.  My dad (a mechanic) taught me that.

I pulled the tank and side covers and replaced them with newly painted parts.  I restored the seat.  I pulled the bars off and restored the front end, changed the headlight bucket and put it back together.  I steam cleaned the motor and chassis.  I dremmel polished the motor.  I changed the rear fender. I cleaned all the chrome. I restored the air box. I changed the plugs.  Basically I did a "refinishstoration" to it.
