Back out to the garage late this morning to continue the front end. While the previous picture was actually after I'd made progress today it was time to keep moving forward. I continued my struggle with the bars but the right side was MUCH easier to thread it's wiring through the bars. Upon analyzing the situation I discovered the aftermarket bars I got from Sudco were the correct bars but the holes were ~ 3mm smaller in diameter! Now I find out
So now I'm at the point where the rest of the front end needs to go together. Out come more new and NOS parts from my stash.
I was able to complete the front end mock up this afternoon but trying to determine how all the wires and cables are routed is a serious #$%*! Thankfully the Honda shop manual has some diagrams that really help.
Time to back off and regroup for my next assault. I really need that new rear sprocket to get it up on 2 wheels! What to do now? Can't really do the electricals until my new electrical panel shows up from England. Looking around I decided to tackle the rear brake master cylinder etc. So out comes my NOS stash again as well as some spares.
The 2 NOS masters with the nylon reservoirs are apparently for Gold Wings while the full aluminum is a late 75 or 76 CB750F. The way I have determined this is the F's have the hose running at a 90
o angle as it exits the master vs straight out for the Wing. You'll notice the hose stop vs no hose stop. I'm seriously tempted to use the NOS Wing master even without a stop since my original master, which you'll also see, has the nylon cup found on the first 2 months production runs.
Anyway, looks like tomorrow is rear brake assembly day as well as rear grab bar install and tail light etc. I'll be back
