Picked up my '74 CB750 from the shop. Long time Honda tech works on the older bikes at this shop on the side. Had everything done...oil change, brake flush, new ss lines, pads shoes, iridium plugs, synthetic oil change with filter, new air filter, carbs rebuilt, new petcock installed, new rectifier installed, wiring harness "customizing" in headlight bucket restored to stock, new control cables installed, valves adjusted, tune up and timing checked, wheel balance and spoke adjustment done, general safety inspection too (bought it used, making sure it's safe)
Went to ride it home and it died at every other light, after the fourth light, it would not restart though it cranked well. Seemed to have a slight miss and also died when slowing for red lights. Mechanic said he did have a hard time synching the carbs...maybe something needs replacing in one of them. It is an old bike.
Oh well, they trailered it back to the shop and are looking it over for anything they might have missed. Hopefully its something they missed and not a new problem which sometimes crops up when you fix all the known problems. ( I had enough old muscle cars and ran into that a lot )
Maybe I can start riding next week.
