Tews,  you do know that most accidents happen within 25 miles of home?...Larry

I did not know that. Is that true? Am I the only person who does not prefer to wear a helmet?

Totally your right not to wear a helmet. However, you don't have to hit your head very hard to sustain a TBI. Search "Traumatic Brain Injury" on YouTube and then make an informed decision.

Drove mine over 130 miles today. Woke up early to head to the DMV for my road test. Passed, now I can ride without a helmet legally!

Why the hell would you want to ride without a helmet mate? Are the roads on your side of the pond made from marshmallow? I understand that good helmets are expensive, and kind of inconvenient at times, but they do serve a very important purpose.............  ???

I don't know why. I just like the ride without a helmet. I have a nice helmet. Not sure if it was expensive. Around 300+ for it.. I will wear it when I go for long rides but not for short ones.

Yep, as has been said before mate, it's your right not to wear a helmet, as long as you don't mind knowing that you're risking everything every time you go for a ride. If you've got a wife or girlfriend, and maybe some kids who all rely on you, you're risking their well-being too.

Helmets suck, but dying on your way to the gas station sucks more. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Took it for a ride to test the new(er) swing arm.  It works, if it handles better, hard to tell, but seems like it.

Well, I'm totally new and today was my first day with the bike home.  So I began tear down.  Pulled the seat, tank and front fender.  Pulled the plugs and got some Seafoam and PB blaster in the cylinders (engines frozen).  Removed the head light, brackets and crash guard and started cleaning it up a bit where I'm not working.  Think that was it tonight.  Can't wait for tomorrow.

76 750f full rebuild of rear brakes, new pistons, gaskets, pads.  Full rebuild of front caliper, and new mc.  Carb kits finally came in so cleaned and rebuilt the carbs.  New regulator and rectifier (seperate units),  new, to me but looks out the box field and stator.

I think that's gonna do it, it's getting to be riding season.  Next up spokes, and tires, and carbon fibre

I finally got all the wiring fixed on the 550F! I now have running lights. I installed the EP35 flasher. Works perfect! Figured out the rear brake light to work as a running light as well.  Removed the rear fender and made a license plate holder from scrap sheet metal. Looks rough but better then a bulky fender.  Pics tomorrow

i got a new vega bluetooth helmet(good for phone calls, bad for music) and  scorpion jacket... i needed  new helmet because i wiped out on my st and bounced my head off the ground coming up to a stop sign( that i had been at at least 100 times before on a bike, right across the road from my work 7 miles from home).. i think that had not been for my helmet i would have a concussion and i was going less than 10 miles an hour

i also got a box i ordered from cyclex of forks, shocks, clutch plates, fork seals and a bunch of cables.. (oddly enough i got another delivery from lowes.. a refrigerator) it was a busy day for deliveries here

I repainted and remounted the heavy duty luggage rack on the back so I can use my commuter bike to transport my project bike parts around the traps.
