I took my 650 around the neighborhood. I jetted the carbs the other day. Still needs some tuning, but better then before. Also modified the stock exhaust so I can hear it.

They don't call it a money pit for nothing.  Starting to get the "might as wells" on this project.  Now that this main journal bolt is broken, I 'might as well' get heavy duty studs.  And since I have to now take out the OEM cylinder studs I 'might as well' put in heavy duty studs there too.  And now since the crank had to come out (to fix the broken bolt) I 'might as well' replace the primary chain/tensioner and cam chain/tensioner.  You all know how it goes. :)

I broke one over Easter when I was replacing the case seals on Tom's K2. (they can break real easy Ron, they're sitting there dry, and basically chemically weld themselves in place) I very carefully drilled a pilot hole thru the centre of the broken off threaded portion, and got it out with no issues, I didn't need to remove the crank, and as I had spare studs I was able to put it all back together the same day. Nevertheless, it was real "heart in the mouth" stuff, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Rode the livin' beejeebus out of my '72 CB350F (all stock) at my first ever trackday at Grattan Raceway in Belding MI. (OK, it was Monday, not today, but...). Wow, that was great fun! She never missed a beat all day, ran perfect!

I am sure slingshot will replace the hose once he is back in town. But its a bummer to tinker with something that simple, i would not be happy camper either.

I plugged in my spare fuel tank. Washing soda and a charger i am derusting the inside.

I know he'll replace the line, but I couldn't cancel my DMV appointment again, so I put a terrycloth bandaid on the line and am riding especially slow and staying off highways. I still have front braking power, honestly, it's better than the old rubber lines, but I'm staying off the front brake unless it's an emergency.

Rode the CA95 on our longest trip together...about 35 miles...very fun.  Took her out to meet the same guys that sold Camelman his K0 to check out a CB550 basket case I'm gonna buy off them.  Cool guys with cool bikes! 

Got the turbo bike to fire up today too!

I took my road test with the DMV last Monday and my 550 was a mess electrically. Horn wasn't working night before, had to soder the wire to make it function, turn signals weren't working properly. They stayed on solid, no running lights with them either. Rear brake light wouldnt operate fully. No running light with that as well.Lights in  the gages weren't working..................MAN thinkign about it, my bike was a mess last week. The guy didn't mind as long as the other drivers would know I was turning... ended up passing and he even advised me to get a collector plate for her... Funny part about it is I was more worried with the bike passing inspection then the actual test.

The following night I was able to get all the electricals working properly. 8)

I spun off my #2 cylinder intake valve locknut at 90mph. We are currently playing 'where's Waldo' inside the engine.

Changed my oil (Rotella) and filter. 
Noticed my right foot peg rubber is torn, ordered replacements.
Also ordered a new rear tire.

Scored some new pre-cut keys for the XS650. 
Got a key to open the spare gas tank that came with it.  It's rusty but should be able to be cleaned up.
Also got a new rubber battery cover to replace the one that melted.

ive had a busy three days

replaced steering head bearings
cleaned fork seals and replaced fork oil (I had new seals to put in, but tried the 35mm film trick and it WORKED?! so far so good. Im still amazed)
cam tension
valve adjust
carb rebuild (also read as: weight reduction I removed so much oil and dirt from the back plate and around the engine that was covered by carbs. the carbs themselves were actually pretty tidy.)
carb sync (thanks to hondaman for selling me his carbtune.)
soda blasted rear wheel (goodbye brake dust oil rust grossness)
oiled chian (this happens all the time, I just wanted the list to feel as long as my days have been)

Finally rode my DOHC 750F! Very different than my SOHC's! Have to adjust the throttle cables for more play and should really get some new brake hoses. But yahoo! Cliff.

There was a pro photographer there and I bought the photo package. He said he mails a CD in about a week's time that will have around 100 pictures or so.

Found a hole in my spare fuel tank I was cleaning. Its on the bottom, but I think it is too thin for weld. Maybe solder?
