Nice picture of the family Tews. I remember taking a similar pic of my oldest son holding his new born little brother. There now 27 and 24. Cherish every moment because they grow up fast.

I spun off my #2 cylinder intake valve locknut at 90mph. We are currently playing 'where's Waldo' inside the engine.

:o  Bet that made some interesting noises...

I've got my broken bolt drilled out, and pretty damn good too, but I think it's going to need a heli-coil to be back to 100 percent.  Not sure how I feel about a helicoil in this area, but I'll get a long one and use green loctite on it- should be ok I think.

Need to get my engine parts in order- APE and Cycle-X are gonna get a bunch of my money by the time it's over, but at least I'll be cool.  :P

today a crotch rocket small maybe 550 or so who knows they all look alike pulled up behind me and when the light changed he shot past me and looked back with an eat #### look.  I did something I never do. I opened the throttle wide open and at 9000 I shifted into second and at 9000 into third. He motioned for me to pull over and said old man that old bike surprised me.  First time in the 3 years I have owned  it I had it to  9000 RPM

Had a dream I lost a spark plug on the road.  I checked, threads looked good

Must be a recap of really losing a tappet screw and nut through the tappet cover in the rally. Threads were still good on the tappet too.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

My wife and I took my kids 750 on a 100 mile ride today and about 10 mile from home the bike dies with no electrical power. Turned out ignition switch connector where it plugs into the harness near the coils literally fell apart. Some resourcefulness and electricians tape and it's up and running however new connector will be installed asap.

Then as we were heading home the shifter falls off. Luckily we were going slow on a gravel road so shifter didn't end up in the weeds beside the road but I still had to walk about half a mile till I found it. Apparently I never tightened it securely the first time ........ it is now though. Other than those 2 mishaps the bike ran fantastic even in the 90+ degree heat

Drained the last of the gas in the 550F tank, rinsed it out and now soaking Evaporust in it again. Thing was filthy.. Also pulled the carbs, drained them.... Tomorrow will clean and reassemble. The tank's paint has started to peel away on some areas. I will situate that area of concern later.

Nice tires, I do like those bags too, pretty darn cool. I have Shinko 705's on my CB750 and I like em!

Bought a set of stainless steel allen head bolts for my float bowls (M4x10 .80 pitch), and got some M5x10s for the one that I stripped the threads out of (gasket got pinched and stressed the threads) to fix up my leaky bowl. Also bought new float bowl gaskets.

Sealed up all the joints on my Two Brothers exhaust. Sounds pretty nice. Got my 40 slows in today too so I'll be rejetting (gonna try 115/40) when I do the above. I have a feeling I'll end up with 110/38 though.. Maybe even 115/38, because in the garage, the top end still sounds pretty smooth.

Dmitri, what carbs you have? 22a or the 69's? 115 seems really high for a 550.... Where did you get your stainless steel allen head set?

I removed the tank last night and this morning found out it leaks.WTWFTFFWTFW WTFTWF WFWT.... Rightnear the petcock next to the knee dent. I turned over the tank to get rid of the remaining rust.

Will JB weld take car of the underside leak?
