I sucessfully mounted my first tire. Still waiting on a tube so I can do the rear.

Also, I decided today that wheel bearing retainers come from the devil himself  >:( At least I got them all back together.

Just picked this up today for a song and dance.  First thing i did was remove that hideous exhaust and seat, because i couldn't stand looking at it when I was in my garage.  Runs good, just needs some minor parts (aside from the exhaust) to bring it back to original.  That's what I did today!

Nice pickup mate! Sooooooo, how much do you want for that hideous exhaust? I likie! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Bought a K5 roller, isn't she lovely?! What do you expect for $50?
Figure I need something to put one of my 3 spare motors in.

All that for $50?  Sweet!  I can see the potential....

I'm jealous of all you guys bringing home CB750's and parts, how many bloody barns are there in the US anyway?

Speaking of anyway, because the BMW R100RS is in very good mechaincal condition, there's no need for any oily work, so the "beautification" process continues. The bike has been dropped on the right hand side at one stage in it's life, there's some rash on one caliper and rocker cover on that side, and the fairing has been repaired, but the "dashboard" has a crack in it, so I decided to replace it with a new BMW part.

One of these switches is not like the other! Yep, I didn't wanna drill a hole in the new dash for the cheesey headlight switch, so I bought a new switchblock. The good thing about BMW stuff is you can still buy new parts for 30+ year old motorcycles off the shelf, and they're not as expensive as CB750 parts.

I also bought some new progressive fork springs. Last ride I noticed that the forks had sagged pretty bad, which is not unusual for bikes with big fairings.

Even with the new springs, I couldn't detect much resistance when I screwed the caps back in, so I machined up some 10mm pre-load spacers, so with the 15mm longer springs, they should jack the front up a tad.

In the 12 years that I had my previous R100RS I never had the headlight apart, and I'm pretty impressed with how easy it is to access all the electrical gubbins, it only took 5 minutes to remove the glass cover, surround, lens etc. All I have to do now is to work out where the hell the wiring for that switchblock goes!

What a boody mess! Oh well, I think I'll be wrenching, rather than riding, today............ ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Walked past the K8 in the garage and promised it 100 miles tomorrow, the 'ol K1 ( background ) pricked-up it's ears when it heard that, but I told it to go back to sleep and rest-up for it's do-over   ;D

Had to pull the pipes to install new sprockets and chain. So I cleaned up up, polished with semi-chrome (and other shiny bits on the bike) and put the pipes back on after the chain was in. Front brakes are next. The whole lot comes back off when I find new skins for it.

Rode it about 200 miles in the last two days. So damn sore. I might as well have metal rods as my front and rear suspension.

Nothing. But I did fix my Xbox 360 with 3 red lights of death. A good day!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I know some guys on the forum here like to remove certain parts on there bikes that they feel to be unnecessary. All in the attempt to reduce a little weight, gain a little more speed, and a gal. or two better mpg, but Stev-o don't you think this is going a little overboard.

Dropped my friggin petrol tank.  >:(

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Terry, I like your spacer better than the short section of PVC tubing Progressive sent with my springs!

I'm thinking Steve-O just needs a couple pedals and some bars now and he's ready to ride  ;D

I'm gonna go to the garage and play some. IF I can successfully get my throttle cables positioned I have 5 gallons of AvGas and 1 gallon of oil on standby with a fully charged AGM battery.

Scrubbing grime from tiny crevasses and prepping pipes for a quickie paint job. Cleaning connectors is next.

Cleaned 12 years of chain lube off the the hub and chain area of my '02 VFR.  First time since I've owned it that the cast aluminum hub has been silver and not black.  Polished the Staintunes and hit the chain guard and rear fender with some Back to Black

12 years... '02... Even if it was build in 01 it'd have to be 2013 for that to be true ;D

The other day I wiped off 38 years of chain grime off my hub. I know it was 38 years worth because it was brand new underneath :P

LOL !!  Good catch.  Let's go with 10 years of chain lube.  That, or I've mastered the art of time travel :o
