Sanded and painted the pipes again. Much smoother, and with flat rather than semi-gloss (oops). Much nicer now

Bought some Tarozzis

I bought the kit for a k0-k6 even though I have a k8 because buying all the linkage individually would have cost as much if not more. So I guess I'll see if theres any way the clamps can be fit (doubt it) and if not, whatev, I'll sell the k clamps to someone w/ some universals and figure another way to mount them (I liked that bike stem trick).

Built my own 2 into 1 diode to get the left and right blinkers to trigger one indicator light. Spoiler alert: I just soldered two diodes together and it worked perfectly.

Had to adjust my chain. I adjusted it the previously day. Heard a louder then usual noise from the engine. Felt my chain and it was tight as hell. Went home adjusted it. Seemed fine until I went up the street. Came home and it was tight again. Adjusted this time, kept it loose and this time it didn't tighten by itself.

Well, I got an email back from the ppeps I ordered my chain from and its on back order, so looks like a couple more weeks w/o a rear wheel on the K5.

Couple of things: mileage v age. If the chain is really old, it will suffer from internal corsion of the pins where they fit into the rollers, especially if its a standard non-oring chain. So just a little bit of running will make it wear really fast. No way around it, regardless of mileage. If the wear is uneven, then you'll have spots where the chain appears properly tensioned, then turn it thru a ways and it tightens up.

Remember alos to adjust it with weight on the bike. The wheel moves thru an arc as it goes up and down. You wnat to adjust it at the point where it is the furthest from the engine. This would be straight back and to get that you need weight on the bike.

For my 750K6 I got the sprockets from Z1 Enterprizes 18/48 and a #530 Diamond chain from Diamond Powersports 102 links I believe. A lot of people say you should drop down to a 17 tooth frt. sprocket, but I stayed with the factory set up.

Got my OEM heat sheilds on last night. Man I like how saxy the OEM pipes are. Final part needed on the "unrestored" K3. Has some patina to it, but don't we all after 40years?!?!

Brought it home again and have it running with the transplanted engine I found last year. Not 100% yet but she sure starts easy.

Switched the K8 from 630 to 530 17/46 gearing. World of difference as far as noise and clunking, seems peppier, maybe because its so much smoother , and it just looks better !

I've been looking into that lately... I want to do it but can't find sprockets? Where did you get yours?

Rode it to work, second time out on it since I got it running well! Still cuts out at higher rpm, still have filters tho, going to order a stock air box off of ebay today! 1976 750k

The higher rpm cutout will either be ignition break down (most likely), or fuel. PODs won't be the problem. They create problems with idle & low / part throttle operation.
