Got the chain, after waiting a month, waiting on sprockets and swing arm bushings.

Hopefully have it all this week and have it back on the road by the weekend.

Where did you order your materials from? I ordered my sprockets from The Shop in Milwaukee Friday a few weeks ago, got it on Wednesday the following week.

Redid my front end. Swapped out the rim and tire. Brought the tire to the shop where I KNOW they cut the tire. They said they didnt. They also said they would take blame for it if they mounted it but there is no way to tell. They also said the wheel is good. That the cuts should wear down and since tube tire not much to worry. After bout 15 miles of riding the cut looks bigger. Is this tire shot?

How would they have cut the tire like that mate? A "Tubed" tire is much more dangerous than a tubeless tire, as they can "blow out" (think of a balloon bursting) without any warning if they develop a bulge caused by air pressure against the weakest part. (that cut, for instance)

A tubed tire will allow the air to escape without an explosion, and without the tire disintegrating beneath you. That's a beautiful K1 you've got there, my advice (for what it's worth) would be to replace that tire before anything bad happens. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I'm pretty sure they get them from parts unlimited. I would have had it a day earlier but I was unable to make it to the shop.

I think replacing the tire is the best thing to do. 116 total. Will have it done tonight.

I just replaced my original 34 year old brake lines on my CB550k. I picked up the lines from slingshot-cycles, stock replacement lines along with the metal tube from the caliper.
I have front brakes again! ;D

Having left many untightened over the years, I'm going thru the paranoia. Just got to sit down and methodically go to each fastener. Don't put the cotter in the axle until it is torqued to 50+ft lbs. The cotter is your visual cue its been done.  I safety wire it to the frame so i can pull it without laying it down.

My guess would be, if it had a label wrapped around it like this one, they didn't have enough common sense to cut it off from the inside, but rather, used the razor blade to cut the label off from the tread side.

Good call.

I was wondering how the tyre got cut, but you have found the answer.

I borrowed a pair of needle nose pliers from work that are small enough to get the circlip out of my forks. I've just about got enough parts cleaned up enough to get some paint.

Not really, I worked in auto parts for 16 years and I've seen too many guys do this to car tires and bike tires, right in front of me! (Once on my own bike tire, which I declined to purchase...good thing I was buying that tire from that shop, I could walk away!)

My guess would be, if it had a label wrapped around it like this one, they didn't have enough common sense to cut it off from the inside, but rather, used the razor blade to cut the label off from the tread side.

Did an oil change on the cb750, switched over to Rotella T 15-40. Pulled appart the kz1000 carbs and started cleaning them, boiled them for an hour in simple green on the bbq. Man did they come out clean, carb cleaner and compressed air after that. Fired up the xr250, been awhile since it I started it up.
