Got my new rear tire and bearings in the mail today. Unfortunately the k1 will have to wait as a package I sent out to someone got jacked up by the POst office  The member emailed me a little while ago stating the box was delivered today but mangled to hell and empty. He was very cool about it as I would be steamed.

I will have to contact the post office about this. Not sure what  it is with my luck lately. I did however tell the guy I will send him my personal fork tubes and brake caliper for the time being and cover the shipping.

Completely tore apart my carbs last night. Took em off the rack, dropped the emulsion tubes, etc. Gave them all a good cleaning with simple green and carb cleaner. Blew out all the passages with an air compressor.

The choke still does not work as it should. When the choke is closed, it won't increase the RPMs like it should. It'll just bog down and eventually die.

Does it have trouble starting otherwise? I gave my buddy's bike a good goin' over and wound up having to put jets so large in that if you use the choke for more than a second it'll just flood and die. It has no problem starting without it though.

What about half to 3/4 choke? Does that work?

No. No position of the choke would do anything (except fully closed).

It has the normal problem of not idling high enough when cold. Other than that it'll take a few seconds and some fiddling with the choke and idle screw to start up.

is everything stock? No aftermarket air filter or exhaust? so long as it's stock, and you have good compression and spark, I'd say you probably need to re-check your float heights and run a wire (guitar string) through your jets.

It's been like that ever since I got the thing. Did it with stock airbox and a MAC exhaust, did it with velocity stacks and free-flowing exhaust, and everything between.

Didn't do anything, but I was discussing painting my bike with the Union Jack on my gas tank with my motorcycle group, just for fun. I searched for an image to get an idea of what it would look like, one of the few results was this:

Needless to say I was thoroughly surprised.

Let it rest and drove the car. It's old too and also needs to run occasionally to keep running.
Felt really weird.

After some indecision about which brand of shocks to buy I went with Hagons. Why you ask?  Dave Quinn.  What a great guy, he was very helpful and really great to deal with.  Should have them on Monday.

My mechanic put a new Avon rear tire on my 400F to replace an IRC that seemed to wear out way too fast.  Now I suppose I ought to get a matching front tire...   :D

Depending on actual shipping costs the price should be under 220.00 for the A shocks with slimline springs all black.   From all the reviews I didn't see the Ikons being worth the additional monies and Hagon's seem to have much better reviews than Progressives (also more expensive)  If this were a bike I knew I was going to keep for a long time I'd have gone with Works alloy bodied shocks but I just have this feeling that I'm going to get the itch to build something else sooner than later.

The other deciding factor was the 30min I spent on the phone with Quinn.  He answered every one of my dumb questions and a made suggestions that I think will have me on the right product for my bike.  This wasn't just clicking away on some website hoping I got the right shock.

...pushed both bikes out of the car, cleaned and completed them a little bit and sorted the parts.
Finished the clear coat job @ the K2 covers.
