Well, I was out of gas and had to do the lawn.  To accomplish this mission I pulled the mower close to mu trusty CB500, connected a gas line to one of the petcock fittings and filled the mower.  I know that I should have ridden the bike rather than doing domestic duties but duty did call.

After nearly killing myself trying to weed-eat the perimeter of the whole yard yesterday I noticed the exhaust fan in the workshop was turning real slow.
Well, ok, the thing has run probably 10-14 hours a day for 200+ days a year for the last 5 years...
Went and got a new one. That's when I discovered the battery charger for the cordless drill apparently died.
(I'm sure a new charger will cost almost as much as a whole new drill.) >:(

Hmm, check the computer in the shop and the el-cheapo surge protector is fried..  But the computer is ok.
So apparently the shop experienced a storm-related power surge while I was out of town last week.
Good thing I unplugged the stereo before I left...   Better check the compressor!!
Anyway, back to work on the CJ360T.

Very typical, as long as the travel area is rust and pit free the forks are useable...Larry

Hey CR, that's gotta blow. All that to deal with. I have been happy with the HF cordless drill and naturally it was cheap.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

The compressor is ok! Whew, that would have been an insurance claim.
Honestly the whole shop needs rewired.  I bought all the stuff to do it like three years ago! It's more fun to work on bikes! Maybe this winter... ::)

I put gas in my bike as I learned, just in time as I was just a block away from a filling station, that I get about 40mpg.  I also learned that my bike runs like crap with about 1/4 of a tank with petcock on reserve.

Probably should remove your petcock and check the in tank filter; likely crap build up is interfering with the flow. ;)

I thought of doing that but it's a brand new petcock and the tanks was completely cleaned out after I got it back from the painter.  But it would be the most logical place to start.

I bought this 1990 RC31 Two Brothers Race replica.  Muzzy exhaust, it needs a tiny bit of TLC but mainly it's a solid bike.  It sets very low and it loves to lean over in a turn.

I decided to tackle the rust in my new CB550K0's tank today.  Emptied the little bit of gas in there and it came out orange.  I could hear some sludge sloshing around so I filled it with water.  Pictured below is what came out.  Reminded me of an outhouse.  There's more sludge to come and then filling it with Evaporust.  I was amazed.

I'm not at all sure what it is to be honest. It has 1 3/8" OD headers, which leads me to believe it's not a MAC, but I could very well be wrong.

I blead the brakes and filled forks with heavy oil. Took it for a spin, almost there needs some final tuning and front fender.

Hi L3niin,

...just throw them in a ultrasonic cleaner and take them out 5 minutes later, wash them again with clear water and dry them with compressed air, I gave them a shot WD40 before I compeltet them.

Good luck...Georg

Took my fork tubes off the bike after hell of getting the front end up with the bike stable. I work out of a small shed like 8 by 5... It getts ruff sometimes. Took out the lower fork bolt then compresed the forks to find that there was used motor oil in the forks..... Joy to me. Anyways got my clip ons in today so prolly going to get some better condition forks anyway mine were all rusted up.  Dont fear the beer
