Don't know.......he offered, I excepted, he posted sold and pm'ed me that he would not be able to ship till saturday, is that ok. I responded, sure. That was on the 19th of July..........Texas is'nt that far from Georgia...........have'nt had responses to my pm, and emails........I'm hoping I'm not jumping the gun here, but......just saying.....could at least let me know something. I probably over anticipated and tore my bike down already, something I should have remembered from 20 years in the Army. Never anticipate the command.

They were never out but the bike was running fine before.

I think the rusty colour at the top is my doing and the lighter stuff is old.

assembled the airbox on the 550. Rode the S90 and got through all of the gears for the first time.

built a suicide clutch and jockey shifter from scratch.

...found strange things under the valve cover, PO inserted bolts instead of screws, 3 valves are pitted,PO killed one bolt and glued the o-ring under the cam towers. Was fighting with the broken bolt, welded a nut on the broken top but it only came out 2-3mm and broke again

Will see tomorrow how to get the rest out.

I meant the carbs were cleaned before but the emulsions were not as I didn't know how to remove them..

...was able to get that broken bolt out, took a little bit more time but the thread is ok

Did new tower seals and o-rings under the cam towers.

finally rode mine after rebuild! Now if I can just manage to "go easy on it" for the break in period...

Fresh rubber arrived today. Some Dunlop K70's... the PO installed some fatty tires, so these are a bit skinnier.

Fire113: You may find that those valve covers will foul the petcock and the frame rails on the intake side. I'd leave them off till you get the engine in just to make sure. I had to use the stockers on the intake side.

Finally found a 650 tach drive on ebay. Installed it this morning, with a 750 tach.

My plan was to put on the polished original stuff BUT the engine is looking sooooooooo ugly and a fresh polished valve cover with a #$%*ing rattle can paint job would be a little bit too much

MY father-in-law just gave me a set of those and they do fit on mine, but i think the petcock is back just a scoche farther on the SS tank.

As for what did i do to my bike today?

new points condensers and carburetor tuning...fun stuff

picked up a project bike the other day, a 73 cb350f w/27K miles. needs a full mechanical and cosmetic freshening up, she can be saved however. still preoccupied with the "vision thing" and not sure exactly where i'm going with this one. been checking the bikes in the inspiration gallery here, and will probably let the bike steer me in the right direction.

am just now diving in and sorting out overall condition. sat for 10+ years in a cellar, then shed, then this PO bought it with "plans" but stalled 2 years ago. amazingly, all the electrics work except one blinker. all the bullet connections look nice too, thank heavens. will still pull each apart and lube w/dielectric grease at some point. robbed a battery and spun her over to check compression -- is terrible (all at 80psi) but may come up when i finally get her going.

came with new ss spokes for front/rear, service manual on CD, 4 Sudco complete carb rebuild kits and a full engine gasket kit. $200.

i'll get her running and, if shifting is ok, back in the shop for a strip down to the frame. oh, boy here we go!
