Finally welded the reducer to my exhaust pipe. First time ever welding and I didn't practice on some scrap metal like I should have. Didn't come out bad, but it's definitely going to need an exhaust wrap.

Plugs & Points.  adj valves.  Oil change yesterday.

Gasket on the airbox is unsalvageable.  I have been nursing it since putting a K8 airbox on my k6.  Apparently the gasket was made from unobtainium; so far I have not even found a part number (CMS sells a complete airbox for 171 euros !2 left!.)  Guess I will need to look in the bins above the garage doors to see if one of my salvage air boxes has a useable gasket.

What about a thin strip of wet suit material Mark? Just glue the shiny side into the recess and it should provide a really good seal. Cheers, Terry.

I may be doing something like this tonight.  I was thinking some EPDM tape but I doubt I will ever wind surf again, the wet suit can go.

I went with type #1 in neoprene, 1/8"x1/4"x1/4" item #8507K43: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/3769/=ixzfav

The "D" dimension (5/16") is too deep, but I plan to trim down the leading edge for proper fit. Enough to do three air boxes for less than ten bucks.

De-Rusted my 1978 CB750F SS gas tank with The Works toilet cleaner then re-sealed it with Red-Kote gas tank liner from Dime City Cycles!

After 37 years of motorcycling, I finally took an advanced riding course and got my "M" endorsement! The CB ran and handled the course with style and grace. I even got the "Oooo Sooo Smooth" award being the best rider out of a dozen veteren riders. It won me a 24 hour Harley rental certificate.....
When I started riding bikes back in the 70's you just needed a drivers license, now a days it's a bit more than that...

Got filters in the mail yesterday while i was at work. Today i gave them a test fit. Had to trimm them up a bit at the mouth of the flange but its not bad they are real small like i wanted. Now pilot jets and a set of headlight ears and it will be on the road again. Maybe a clutch adjustment. If anyone has any good threads on that it woulld help lol.

Briar brown K2? Are you taking the engine apart or building one from your mother load?

Decided to invest in a nutsert/rivnut tool for the workshop, since I am busy working out mounting points on parts and how to secure them.

This should make adding nuts to brackets much easier than welding, I am going with a "6mm maximum" tool, anything over 6mm in a nutsert probably DOES need welding.

Got my custom oil tank fitted to the frame mounts, and cut off all un-needed frame tabs. Oil tank is looking very good-aluminum should polish up good.
