Pulled a parking ticket off the front.  $42 for no residential permit.  Luckily I have straight pipes so a quick lawn job made me feel a lot better.  Plus you can pay them online now.  Nice.

Rode to work after being away from the bike for a week while on vacation, good to be rolling again. Got #38,40,42 press in slow jets and #120 mains ordered, as well as some float needles and seats for the kz. Carb whispering soon to commence, time to set things up proper on both bikes.

Yeah I've got a center stand but with the slightly longer Hagon shocks the rear tire just touches the ground   This also makes it easier to get my jack under the bike because when the center stand is down its in the way

Posted the first time without the pic...I blasted them in a Snap On cabinet at my pop's shop, then primed, then used Duplicolor High Temp (just what we had) Aluminum...came out exactly how I wanted :)

They look much better silver than black mate, well done! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Fixed non-ideling problem and got the carbs synced up on my recently acquired 750 that was sitting in a buddy's hanger for the last 4 years. Super close to being rideable again.

Ah, they're growing on you Terry ;D  Can't remember whose I saw that had painted them a light silver, but as soon as I saw them I was sold.  They won't go with the gold tank on my 500, so I think I'll go back to the red tank w/shaved emblems..

No worries Stev-o!  If you blast 'em, don't linger too long and take off too much material.  Don't blast the lip if you plan on polishing them like stock.  Mine were oxidized enough to blast, and I didn't have the time to polish them...plus I'm really liking how this paint turned out.  I got two coats on top of the primer, and that paint was very forgiving, and POPS ;D

Well it was the first day of Spring today, and the sun was shining, so I was a happy boy. Cliff came by to pick up his 450 barrels and drop off a neat old Waldown pedestal drill he picked up for me, and after he left I rebuilt Ken's K1 carbs. The bike had been sitting in an unheated garage somewhere in America's midwest for 40 years, so even though it's only got 5000 miles on the odometer, the insides of the carbs were foul.

Luckily I didn't have to screw around with manky old parts, I had four NOS Sudco carb kits that came with new fuel valves, #40 pilot jets, 120 and 125 main jets, new idle screws, needles etc etc, so I stripped them, cleaned all the crap out, blew all the circuits out with compressed air and replaced everything with shiny new parts, lovely! Once it was all back together it took a little while for the fuel to make it's way to each carb, but when it did, it burst into life and ran just like it did back in July 1970. Superb! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well done Terry, that bike looked real nice, glad it is going now.

I got my electrics tray built and prepped the frame and small parts for powder coating next week (see my CB450 build thread).

New Plugs, cleaned tank, drained bowls, installed fuel filter, adjusted valves, charged battery.

Then I filled the tank with 93 and Seafoam and rode 50 miles.

Felt great 8)

Hey those Lester's look great - I haven't seen a bike here with those on, it's either spokes or Comstars when I see them.

Thanks Maduncle!  I just painted them yesterday.  Not a big fan of black wheels, on cars or bikes.
