Swapped over the tire, axle, speedo drive, and brake disc onto the Lester.

VERY NICE! I really like it in silver.

Picked up the zx7 parts bike. To my surprise, it had a box of ZX6R parts, including the seats, carbs, and some airbox pieces.

Sanded some more on the 750 frame.

Yeah I could get it sandblasted... but I only plan for primer and paint so I might as well keep the whole thing in my hands. I figure a few sanding sessions will clean it up just fine and dandy for a good priming.
That swing arm I did the same way has held up for 5 years and over 15,000 miles now.  ;D

It is nice to become more closely associated with the bike. :)
Something about rubbing every curve and surface of the naked frame.
Luckily for me it's clean, rust free, and solid under those layers of old paint.
Knowing that will make the next 50,000+ miles more relaxing :)

Technically this was yesterday but I did some fiddling with my carbs.  I have pods and overall the bike runs great.  I had a little burble just when I cracked the throttle and the idle was a bit rough.  So on a whim I played with the air screws and now my bike runs perfectly in all throttle positions and idles like champ.  Unfortunately I really don't know how I got this to happen other than dumb luck and when (and there will be a when) I have to do this again I'm screwed!

Then I rode to to work and went to Bike Night at Docs.  Ran into a really cool girl riding this

Still working on the CJ360. This last weekend it was mostly cleaning & polishing. Lots of bolts & hardware to scrub and soda blast. Working on the brake hubs, cleaned up the bars and installed NOS controls. They look nice.
If I can get the front wheel trued and skinned this week I'll start reassembling the bike this weekend. :)

 : ;D ;D ;D

Spread my bike far and wide today, dropped off the sleeves to the borer, dropped off the frame and parts to the powder coater, then drove 200km to buy Hagon shocks from the local supplier (I was going that way anyway for a work meeting so it was handy).

Swapped out the seat with a genuine Honda seat.

I can't believe Honda makes a factory new seat for a 38 year old motorcycle.

I did my good deed for the day.

Was riding down the freeway in the left lane and saw a couple on a bike on the shoulder. Was going too fast to be able to stop, so I took the nearest exit and doubled back to see if they needed help. They were still there fifteen minutes later, so I stopped and asked if they were alright.

Turns out it was an older Aussie couple and they were on the side of the road for about 45 minutes hoping someone would stop, but nobody did until me. They were on a rented Harley, and had run out of gas. They said it was because they're not used to bikes like that because they both ride enduros back home, and getting 120 miles from a full tank caught them by surprise.

What did I do? Since my tank was full, I popped it off, held it over their filler cap, and turned on the petcock. Gave them about a gallon of fuel to get to the gas station. They were so grateful (and seemed like very nice people), so they offered to buy me a beer. Didn't want to offend them, so I told them I was in a hurry and was just happy to help.

Before I took off, they gave me their number and said if I was ever near Adelaide to give them a ring and we could go riding or something.

Yeah - good on ya Dimitri for taking the time to look after one or two of our own.

If you ever make it to Adelaide there is a beer in Melbourne for you too (only 8 hours apart).

Nice story, Dimitri!

I rode to work in dark, as I do every day lately and tried yellow night glasses.  They help a bit, imho.

I got them long time ago from eubay, back than it was for driving jeep sans doors and roof in summer; you catch a lot of small shiit in your eyes that way.  The look like this:

and from what I understand, they help with certain light spectrum to make you see better at night.
