I discovered an oil leak on my beautiful CX500 when I was over at Cliff's place today, that'll teach me for re-using a 32 year old clutch cover gasket! I better go fix it while I think about it. Later!
But whilst you were over at my place you and I were able to get the CB450 head torqued down and the cam chain on - so thanks heaps Terry, no way could I have done it without you (and thanks for the excellent instruction in how to use a torque wrench).
Lesson of the day, I need to carefully inspect my cams for timing alignment marks.
The casting mark is not the timing alignment mark (we found that out after fitting the chain the first time and turning the engine over slowly until a valve hit a piston - uh oh).
The timing mark is in fact that carefully drilled little hole in the edge of the cam (second time around we got it right).
So now all I need to do is set the cam follower clearance, fit the cam covers and then the engine can go into the frame.
