Took this Nissin master cylinder off the Planet Blue K5 [are these worth anything?]

and put a "proper" MC on there and bled the system. Do you guys use a power bleeder?

Then I put on some Pro Grips and took a spin around the 'hood...

I like those grips Steve, very cool! The Nissin master is better than the one you replaced it with, but if you're looking for the "OEM" look, then fair enough. No it's not worth anything, I buy new ones for my bikes (because they're so much better than the "proper" ones, for around 50-60 bucks on Ebay. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I like the grips too, have them on my K4 too.   Made in Italy and only ten bucks. The Nissin just looked odd on that bike and wasn't working so off it went (had no fluid in it).  I had the OEM on the shelf so that was a no brainer

No worries, where'd you get the grips from? You asked if anyone uses a power bleeder? I've got one but don't use it for bike stuff, if you're having problems bleeding yours, get a really fine drill bit (.75mm or smaller) and drill out the breather hole in the MC. You'll be surprised at how well it bleeds then! Cheers, Terry. ;D

If your still getting some sponginess, there may be air trapped at the banjo (looks higher in the picture than cylinder).  Try turning the front end to the left, so banjo is lower than M/C.  Then tape the lever in the open (brake on) position over night.  Also a gentle tap with a screw driver handle starting at the caliper, and working up the system will help move any air up and out of the system.

I bought the grips locally at Cycle Gear but can't find them on their website. Amazon sells em too

http://www.amazon.com/Progrip-714BK-Black-125mm-Sport/dp/B000WO8MKY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1355882912&sr=8-2&keywords=pro+grip+714

No issue bleeding brakes. Remember using my buddies power bleeder on my shifter kart I had a couple years ago and it worked great. Wondered if you used one.

Cracked into a set of '69 K0 750 carbs that will be going on the 500/4 8)

How are you gonna make 'em fit mate? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Terry, they mount right up to the existing spigots.  I will have to ding the underside of the 500's smaller tank to make room for the 2 & 3 carbs' tops.

I take it back Terry ;D ;D ;D Apparently, it takes something like these things!  750 rubbers cut to fit the 500/550 manifolds.

No worries mate, I thought it might have been a bit more difficult than that, but I didn't want to burst your bubble. Dont do what some have done over the years and use pieces of radiator hose, that isn't good for ideal flow characteristics. ;D

My bad!  I forgot to cover the bike last night.  Found 1/4 inch of snow on it this morning.  Oh well, no snow on the road, so all is good.

Sounds like a good sign that there will be snow for Christmas in Battle Creek.  I will be up there all next week with the family.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Really, Really?  We should get together at Arcadia or Dark Horse and bend elbows if you got the time.  Some others Are in the area too.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Finally sent out my parts to MRieck and HondaMan. Shipping the swingarm was much more expensive than I thought. How heavy is a 550 swingarm without the axle or brake rod?

Another beautiful summers day here, I think I'll take the GS1000 for a ride. It's pretty warm, so I might only be riding to the pub.............. ;D

I got outside in the warm sun and did terrible unforgivable things to a CB450 frame with an angle grinder to try to make an IT425 swing arm fitted with a huge old progressive suspension nitrogen charged mono-shock fit.

I don't want to offend any sensibilities here - so I am running a thread on this mad experiment over at Do The Ton called 'Maduncle's WTF 450'.

Do it here too Cliff, we don't give a crap about anything else but SOHC4's here so we won't be offended, and we're way smarter than those DTT wankers..... ;D

I checked and reset the 400's float heights. They were all a couple of millimeters too high.
