Dawg,

Swap the #1 & #4 plugs and/or plug caps before mess'n with carbs.  See if the problem follows the plug.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Put a little bend in the outboard ends of my straight bars - they were a little hard on the wrists. Installed bar-end mirrors, fixed and repainted my off/run switch, moved my tail light and plate off to the side by the shock in prep for the arrival of my DCC rear hoop. One day soon ill declare this thing done. Not yet

Learned a lesson:

Don't put your feet on rear pegs if you don't have oil tank cover.  I felt like a roast nut.  ;D

Got the tailight yesterday, looks good, thanks again. And like the color of your new truck, brakes good now?

Those are new mirrors thanks to you bud. Are you sure the taillight was the correct one. I had 3 out on the bench and thought I put the 550 taillight in on accident. Unless I have 3 early small taillights. If so I will send you out another.

Yes the piston was froze and they replaced it under warranty.

I found it during my fleabay search ritual...had a seance, and did a magic dance and it just came to me :P ...$335 bucks later ;D ;D Gonna spend good money on the Yamiya cover, or something similar if I can find it, and have it reupholstered by someone local.

Tried to avoid spending $5 on getting the tyre taken off an old rim that is going in for re-chroming, so I went to the local bike shop and ended up spending $45 on tyre levers and rim protectors that didnt work  :o So ended up having to take tyre levers back and spend the $5 in any case.

Cost in the end - $5 for tyre removal, $10 for screwed up rim protectors, $5 petrol  ::) Oh well, just another gem to add to the "experience" files *sigh*

Change front brake fluid CB550F.
Used 15mm spacer on handlebar grip to prevent piston overtravel ,per Honda service bulletin SL #110 7/31/75.

Rode to work with a steering damper installed, night and day. Not that the steering was in bad shape but it's a big change in how much more smooth and stable the front end got, it was rebuilt 2 springs ago with progressive springs and new seals etc.

Got to work and put on the fork brace, will be nice to see if it gets anymore solid on the trip home.

adding a Tarozzi brace made a HUGE difference on my K8.  night and day.

did some reconnection in the rats nest behind the head light and got the turn signal indicator to work.. also replaced the rear signals with the ones I bought yesterday, also got the speedometer and tach lights working.   either going to have to check the indicator bulbs or figure out what I am still doing wrong cause the hi/lo, neutral, and oil lights are not lighting up yet.. but I will get there.

You sure got that right, the damper was a big differance but man what a ride improvement with the fork brace added into the equation. Feels like a 2007 bike, not a 1977. Money well spent thats for sure.
