I rode it. After a lovely 12 hour sleep (drugs are good........) I had a leisurely lunch of Eggs and Bacon on toast, and by around 2pm I was feeling a tad bored, so I rode off on a magical mystery tour.

I arrived back 4 hours and 200-odd miles later, tired, but happy. No mechanical issues, no issues that require fixing later, it just went like a big black bird. I refuelled it at the 165 mile mark, and it had only sipped 15 litres of 98 RON. (40 MPG) All in all, a great day! Cheers, Terry.

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I finally got my K2 registered Friday after 2 years off the road for an engine rebuild and tidy up. Had a family trip commitment Saturday and finally fired her up this morning, then again this arvo. I'm no mechanic and expect little things to need sorting out gradually as I increase ride times. Idling too fast after this morning's ride, a lot better this arvo - new throttle cables will help. One of the things that really hit me this arvo was the healthy almost 'whistling' sound I picked up from the motor. It reminded me of how my brand new K2 sounded when I first got it - about 40 years ago. After a few Hondas, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, Harley's and a Ducati, my return to where it all started reinforced that the Honda 4 really is something special. Slug

Well done Slug. I must be a tad younger than you, I bought a new (discontinued) 1975 CB750F from Stanco in Melbourne in 1978. While I'm no "F" fan, you're right, the CB750 is a very special bike. Cheers, Terry.  ;D

I'm going to be pulling the head off my 550 today to take care of a nasty oil leak. I already have another cyl head that I've mildly ported to put on it with new kibblewhite valve springs installed. The bike already has a 650 cam that  has seemed to work ok with the stock springs but since I already had the other head apart I figured the new springs would be a good idea. I'm also installing a MLS head gasket from cycleX so we'll so how that works out. As long as I don't get any distractions from anybody wanting me to fix their stuff then I should be able to have it apart and back together this afternoon and hopefully it stops raining by then so I can take it for a spin.

I spent my valve train money on new water heater. The family did not buy the simple fact that cold showers are good for you.

Well weather is breaking, doors are open and starting to push a bunch of bikes around and organizing the mobile tool carts.Hey there's that tool I lost  this winter !!
Take a break and my shop buddy/expert says put the cocktail down and start a bike.OK-Drag out one of 4 ,750's that may be on the chopping block this spring and we give it a go.1974 I bought  5 o 6 years ago, that funny purple color-Boss Maroon, you know.Got it running good to sell last year and put 7 miles on it for fun.Well it stuttered and farted and cranked like a champ then with a nice little rest lit right up on all 4 with that good gas in there  ;). Took a little nice warm oil to give me back the clutch and then we did some hot laps around my parking lot and left a couple of  stripes in the dirt. Someone will be happy with this one, actually runs good which I usually never hear, mostly stock except for crap Mustang seat and headers and a front tire ready to delaminate.
My buddy say's I have to start one bike every time I make it down from now on----CRAP----
PS-Put some fairing out where they belong--trash pick up in my front yard   :'(

Sold the silver K1. I gave the kid enough parts to build another bike. Kinda reminded me of myself when i got into the CB's.
Then I got this for a future bike. Nice 550f muffler no rust!

About half what the spokes cost, per each set. Front and rear polished, stainless spokes for my K3 came to $371.20, shipped. The polishing was about $65.oo for each set. Pricey, but they look good. Hopefully, I won't have any fitment problems(I've read on this forum about some issues, occasionally.)

Changed the oil and took off the ooooold oil cooler that came with the bike when I got it.... (2 yrs ago?)
It was leaking and making the front of the bike a mess, plus just cluttered up her looks.   ;)

Loaded her on the trailer for a ride down to Deals Gap.  Annual MINI Cooper meet taking place this weekend and she's going down with me for some two-wheeled fun.   ;)  Maybe I'll come back with a pic or two for the "Pics on the road" thread.

Summer has finally come to Michigan?
Anxious to get the 750 back on the road... (The 550 tires are getting too worn :) )

Put the frame on the engine ... damn that was way easier than I was expecting.
Put on the stands, swing arm, shocks, rear wheel, triple tree....
Worked a bit on preppin' the side covers for paint.

Over the last couple of weekends I've rebuilt the wheels and re-fitted all the bits & pieces so I could get her going.

Today... I got the old girl running!

Tune-up tomorrow and I'm sooo close to getting her back on the road.
