Went yard sale picking this morning close to home and ran up on a 1976 750F that I had looked at at least two or three years ago at a different location around 40 miles away.Offered the guy a price back then but offended him I guess and he would not talk to me again. It was his Fathers bike that was given to him.Oh well since it has changed hands  I was able to get it cheaper than my offer before from this 'new' owner. Always kinda wondered what happened to it.
Old Yeller, (didn't have this color of 750 yet)  has been neglected but the paint is good and its mostly still original.Have the side covers but they are pretty much done for. I started it back then when I took a battery out of the bike I rode to see it.Hopefully should again after a good going through. Dyna ignition but the best part is it has just a little over 8700 miles on it. Hope it keeps the nickname Old Yeller and not Big Ugly Lemon  ;D

Geez that brings back memories Eric, I bought one like that new in 1978, it was a 1975 model but they were so ugly no-one would buy them here, so I got it for a really good price, just to get it out the door.

Watch the rear brake, it's about twice as powerful as the front, and it'll lock up the rear wheel and slam you under the back of an AP5 Valiant if you're not careful, as it did me. They weren't a bad bike, and of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to me, it'll always be a big Fugly lemon.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Taking a road trip to Arkansas, so installed new (replacement) windshield, and an extra power port (GPS unit) on my Road King. My K3 will have to wait till I get back.

Put gas in it, checked my point gap and plugs, adjusted carbs and did my second break-in ride since the rebuild.   Also hooked up the brake light.   After I rode it.  :P

Well 'twas rather chilly here today, but the sun was shining, so that was good enough for me to do a 200 mile ride on my 'Wang. It is a superb cold weather bike, the "Barn Door" fairing kept most of the icy wind off me, and the heat from the engine blowing across my lower legs that pissed me off last summer, was actually rather pleasant today.

I got home around 7.30 tonight and once thawed out I ordered a pizza and I'm working my way thru a bottle of Chivas. All in all, a great day. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Rode out early this morning on the TT600 in 6 degrees (C)  to a place by the river (where it was colder) to pick up a lamp (!).

Cleared a ton of my unwanted CB450 parts out of my brother in laws garage and sold them off to a dude on eBay. Found a few neat cafe racer parts I had not used and did not want so sold them off to some dudes on FaceBook in the Melbourne Cafe Racer group, ended up with a few hundred bucks to put away for a pair of Mikunis (or as a deposit on another bike).

Then dragged the CB450 out, kicked it into life and went for a street cruise in the sun.

Found tow idle jest clogged, cleaned them and did a carbsync(@idle & @3000RPM). Feels like I have a new bike  ;D Pulls hard and the HM300 sound good to me. Filled in a shot of oil, fresh fuel and did ~ 40 miles in the sunshine, what a nice day   :D

G'Day Dwight, the GL1200's can have a problem with the OEM centre Stands, which mine does, so I looked around the 'net and found that accessory "Ride Off" stand on eBay, which works brilliantly, except it can touch down if you're braking into a tight right hander, which can be a little disconcerting, and I'll have to modify my crash bars to make 'em fit. I still love just riding the bike off the stand though. ;D

How cold are we talkin down there Terry ?

Ha ha, well not cold at all by your standards Eric, probably around 55 degrees when I left, and 45 when I got home? I know, I'm a big woose, but hell, the only thing I want that cold is my beer! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Went to the vintage races at Road America. On the way I missed my exit. Drove an extra 15 miles north. Then had the RH control break while trying to warn on coming traffic of a cop taking radar. Stopped at a gas station to get a paper clip to remove the piece of broken plastic that was jamming my start button. Fixed that. Rode the piss out of my K1 on the track. Then did the 40 mile vintage ride with host Old Scrambler. Took my time home riding the 90 plus miles. Once home, synced the carbs on the blue 550F and test rode her for a while. What a difference the 550 is compared to the 750 in regard to handling.   Overall great bike day!

Pulled exhaust off today.
Oil and new K&N oil filter
While the exhaust was off, I removed the old DEI wrap, and installed new.
DEI black silicon paint
New exhaust studs, flange nuts, copper crush washers
Exhaust put back on, warmed up, no leaks, and a stinky, smoky ride around the neighborhood   :P

Mocked up everything on the front end to make sure it is all ready to go. I need to pull the fork legs and put another coat of Candy Teal to darken them to match the calipers. I am really glad I decided to do the CBR600 swap on this bike. Honda should have done something like this instead of discontinuing the CB400f.
