BJ, did you coat the tank of your Tracy body? Curious to see the picture

Yeah, they guy I bought the body off had a Caswell kit for it he didn't get around to putting in. I wouldn't have taken the chance with ethanol in gas today, it will turn it to a gummy mess

That is an old mockup pic but it is more or less what it looks like mounted on there. Lucas tail light, mini round blinkers and did away with the side mount plate. I will get a good "today" pic up tomorrow in the daylight

For the record, that is the best looking Tracy kit I have seen. Almost didn't recognize.

Everything that can possibly stop me from getting to the engine has happened and succeeded. Doing little bits here and there, took apart the front suspension till I got stuck at the snap ring.

I just gotta say, doing the frame blue like that really makes the bike a whole different looking creature, catches my eye every time! Just had to say so.  ;D

Having a little Indian summer in NC at 78 degrees so I took her out for a short ride. Wish I had the fore thought of getting another oil filter so I could change this oil out before it gets cold and wet.

Once I saw the kit I was sold, it is totally different than the rest so thanks.

I still haven't been able to date it, generation wise but it fits more or less how it should.

Thanks Jerilee

Cleaned carbs, new o-rings, stock jets. Installed new keyster float valves, the spring section of which is stiffer than OEM, as I had read on this forum. My floats are set at 23.5mm (CB350F) as measured in the centre of the black plastic section. Everything seems to be functioning fine - I'll update with pics if the keysters explode my bike :)

Technically, nothing. But I did pick up the spin on oil filter conversion kit that had been on my Goldwing from the guy who bought it. I had made him a deal to get it back as he wanted to go back to the original cartridge filter setup. I plan to use it on my 550.

I also go to see his bikes, 2 immaculate GL1000's, a '75 standard and a '76 LTD, and a never titled CBX, a '79 I think.

Took the front end apart and ordered an All Balls Stem Bearing Kit. Waiting on parts to rebuild the front disc caliper.

Where from? And what kind? Pre sealed or standard? Link/Pix would be great, I need to grab me one too, just took apart my steering stem.

While I'm on the subject, where do you guys get the SKF bearings?

You sold your 'Wang Danny? Say it aint so! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I did sell it. it was either the Wing or the MG, and since it's 19 degrees F here right now and snowing, the MG is more useful. Never fear though, I am finally doing the needed body work on the MG and plan to sell it in the Spring and I have my eye on a naked '77 Wing languishing next to a house a few miles from where I live.

So hopefully the MG will fund completion of the 550 project and another Wang for me. :)

I had noticed the steering felt notchy as I turned the bars so I decided to tear it down and put an All Balls kit in it, when I got it apart I think I found the problem. The lower bearing race was broke.

No damage I can see. I was surprised when I dropped the lower tree out and the race fell in two pieces. I was kind of dreading getting the lower race off, it was no problem  ;D.

Took my whole front end off for cleaning and replacing seals and bearings. And my races are pretty stuck so they are soaking in wd40 overnight. If that doesnt loosen then up, dremel it is.

PB Blaster works better. I didn't even know this is a pain for many because PB blaster, rubber mallet and a piece of an old broomstick whacked them right out for me.
