Picked up my muffler from the welder.

Better Half and I are moving into a house with a garage and workshop this week, so bike will be coming to me soon! No more driving to the in-laws to work on it! Things will get done MUCH faster now. Will be utilizing my father in law's chain hoist one last time to do front end work, then it is back to me for re-assembly!

congrats on the new house and garage-always nice to have a work area...Larr

I went to add the 'new' DOHC brake parts to the pile of '77F in the SAAB (my impromptu storage shed and someday 'adult car'), and noticed the box of parts on the seat had crushed it about an inch thick... realizing I'll have to sit on that someday, I moved it all to the real shed and quickly ran inside from the cold! :P

I fixed my pesky little K0 carb plate problem.

Nice work mate, there was a guy in Canada selling repop K0 carb brackets a few years ago on eBay, nice quality too, he even stamped the edge of the plate so it looked like the original when mounted. 65 bucks is a great price. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

PS: Is your bike yellow or gold? Looks nice.

Thanks mate, it's supposed to be a Honda gold, there was a company selling Honda candy colors in rattle cans a few years ago, but they went broke, which is a shame, it was good paint. It probably matches a CB350 twin, definitely got a greenish tinge in it, unlike the CB750 golds with more of an orange tinge. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Sorry I couldn't find the pin for you Paul. Shouldn't be too hard to make one up. There should be a few shops in Newcastle to straighten out that stand for you.

Finishing up rebuilding some cb400f carbs. So many little parts and pieces in there, its crazy.

Anybody play with the jetting, or have a need to with stock exhaust and airbox? My experience is 750's and anything I can find on 400f's is all pods

Moved my cb500 inside so I have something moto-related to do while it's too cold to ride. First order of business is to pull the carbs and un-stick them, try to clean the chrome, but there is a lot that is going to have to be rechromed. I won't have a thread up right away, but after I get in it a ways I probably will.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

In order to help move on to page 667, I'll post again. Gave it a good wipe down to get rid of the dirt and dust that was on it. Removed the tank and seat, cleaned and polished a few sample spots here and there. Some of the chrome, like on the front fender turned out pretty nice, although not perfect. You won't really notice until you get up close and look. With a bit of thought and a lot of pushing and pulling I managed to wrangle the carbs out. I've taken two bowls off and they were both gunked up. The float pins are gummed and won't move, and in the case of #2 the float wouldn't move. So, they are going to go to work where I can soak them. (If I am in the right area)  I'm tempted to bring in a battery to see if the electrics are good.

I'd like to have this done by April, but we'll see about that.

Had to charge the battery a little to get it started.

Rode it down the block for the first time since I got it back from the shop.

Seems the shop forgot to put my red rear reflectors back on since the accident.

Looks smooth as can be, but not legal, I think, so looks like the insurance has a little more money to spend.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Installed new Motogp Werks exhaust and ran it through the turns at Red Rock National Park. No more exhaust scraping on pavement and what a great sound and feel!
