Time consuming stuff...soldering, new bullet connectors and covers, heat shrink tubing on wire runs, etc.
Looks much cleaner.  I love the smell of flux in the evening

Replaced my swing arm bushings in my 71 750... do I reuse the end caps since I went to the flanged bushings?  Also if anyone needs the felt washers I have then in good shape.

They were originally crimped because a good crimp has a more durable connection. Especially in moving things. Started wiring your telephone systems in 1980 and we only soldered the mistakes!

I think a good crimp makes a good connection but the elements can eventually have their way with it. The solder on top of a good crimp with shrink tubing covering it is probably the best you're gonna get. When I say good crimp............I mean done with a decent set of crimpers. They have cheapies that just smash the connector around the wire but a good set has a tit on one side that makes a way better crimp that the wire won't hop out of.

Drained my tank, swapped out a leaky petcock, hooked up the new fuel lines after testing it for leaks and took it for a damn ride in the first time in two weeks ;D

Now it's time to sell it!!

Nicholas when you go to re install it, don't forget to loosen the engine mount bolt that holds the foot pegs on. It will loosen the frame up a bit allowin the swing arm to easily get it

Progress again...! Got the head back from my local tuner that fixed the head. 8 new valves, adjusted spring force. Inlet valves had dimples (Mike Rieck helped me with lash caps), new CycleX ex super flow valves replaced due to loose fit in guides.

New Honda F2 inlet valves + kibblewhite exhaust valves plus spring force adjusted on ex side with shims. Too small spring force. I do not know when I lost the shims under springs or if my local tuner missed something for 30 years ago. I might have lost them in later mechanical sessions.

LIFE IS GOOD!! Do the head job with engine in frame ;)

I'll re-torque head 28Nm later today  (20.65 ft lbs) I do not want to torque harder when max is 22 ft lbs according to kibblewhite HD stud instruction

Time cam this weekend... soon starting it again... maybe tomorrow? :)
