I retired my Triple A pipe for the RC.  Run those RC pipes if you got 'em!  RIP Russ Sr.

Got my 'new' seat in the mail today!
I pulled the Suzuki taillight out of it and surveyed the land, a bit of damage to the plastic of the cowl where it was cut for that light, I'm wondering if it will show, if not I'm going to keep it and clean it up, otherwise I'll have to get another cowl.
The seat pan has some rust bust seems solid overall and the foam seems OK under new vinyl, I'll recover it in a more correct cover after I clean the pan and send it to the powder coater's with the rest of the black parts.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160702898688?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 These look pretty nice but they're stitched, not heat pressed, and don't have the Honda painted on the back.

Cleaned the rust out of my fuel tank.  I used Betco Stix bowl (as in toilet) cleaner which really does stick.  According to the MSDS, it's minimum 20% phosphoric acid and it seems like it did a pretty good job.  I poured in two bottles (946ml each) and shook it all around, let it sit for 15 minutes, and repeated a couple times over about an hour.  I thoroughly rinsed it all out, let it dry, and coated it with a thin coat of light oil.

Before

The sauce

After cleaning, rinse, and oiling

Now that the inside is de-rusted, I can go ahead and begin de-yellowing the outside.

worked on the 1/2 plate aluminum for the hydro clutch conversion for baby.  getting there slow an steady.  got caught in hail storm this afternoon on her as well.  60 mph in traffic when it hit out of nowhere.  surprised still got windshield and helmet visor left.  scary as hell for about 3 minutes.

Stuffed me some bucket...

My customer bought a bunch of Dime City stuff but didn't bother to see if it all fit together.  Those chrome buckets they sell are NOT meant for a full harness.

Did some spring cleaning of my garage, rearranged things and got my wife's and my dirt bikes fired up. Cleaned the plug, float bowl & fresh gas on both bikes. Fired on the second kick, got stopped by the cops while ripping up and down the street on my xr haha. Not street legal, no helmet and loud. Must have horseshoes up my ass, walked away without a ticket lol.

Took the K8 seat off and put the proper N.O.S. K7 seat on. Then, I went for a little ride to a place where people speak funny.  :D

Power washed the grease and road grime off the swing arm while we had the hose out for the car washing. I'll strip it shortly in prep for new bushings and powder coat.

Stopped by my buddy's hardware store and picked up the tank petcock bung I ordered off eBay last week. Now I just need to get the tank from my sister's so I can have the part welded on to replace the stock one the PO cut off for no good reason.

My Hagons came in the mail :) Installed them and they are gorgeous. They're the 310mm style but for being shorter I don't compress them nearly as much as my original shocks. I'm quite a bit higher off the ground now :O Maybe they'll settle.

Are you going to take it back to bare metal Georg? Regardless, you'll need to spray the silver base coat again, if you just spray more gold on it, it'll get darker, but the sparkly silver won't shine thru in sunlight.

I bet you already knew that, but I thought I'd just throw it in if anyone else is thinking about doing a candy paint job. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Since I got my 750 running a few weeks ago the neutral light never went out even though it worked fine before I tore the engine down. No pinched wire so the problem was coming from the neutral switch itself so I tried another and still the same problem. The problem turned out to be an oversized o-ring I used, it sealed just fine but even though the switch seemed to be seated to the block it actually wasn't because of the o-ring so I installed the correct o-ring and neutral light works as it should. I'm getting the bike ready for a trip in July so I wired up a cigarette lighter under the seat so my GPS can have something to plug into.

Bet it's fun riding that thing on them autobahns over there. Bike looks good, and weather too. Ahhh France, miss it and Germany too.

I only had cars when I was over there, would like to have had a bike.

But, oh well, would have lost household poundage if I had one. Lots of hassle to ship back and forth.

If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

...nope! I am not going back to bare metal, paint arrived on Saturday and I hope that I can finish the K0 next week  :-\

Was going to renew all my gauge covers but the sandblaster guy did a mistake--> all housings unusable / bent. The guy paid me for the housings and I ordered new housings, just finished all gauges but I broke one face plate, don't ask me how   ;D

Have a good one...Georg

The Honda is my Baby. It didn't ship with the household goods. I had a crate made and put it in an airplane in San Diego from where it was flown to Frankfurt at my own expense. It cost more than I paid for the bike new.  :)
I don't care much about France. But France is only half an hour away from LRMC where I am stationed at--for the past eight years. Whenever I get the opportunity, I am in Italy, Austria or Switzerland, riding in the Alps--summer or winter. For the Autobahn, I prefer my other bike:
