He gave me a sweetheart deal on his 15,000 mile V65 Sabre he bought new and a low mileage CB900C with a nice set of extra stock exhaust pipes He got from an original owner. Those along with his bike lift for a grand seemed like a fair deal and He wanted me to have them, especially the V65. Neither are my favorite bikes but I have been curious to try on one of those big V4's if there are any cams left on the top-end  ;) Can't lose too bad on the deal and it helps him out + I have to keep the red K1 alive and well. Hate riding those things around. Anyways its only money, they will keep printing more-------

Sounds like a smoking deal.  At least it wasn't a HD.
The price of those takes a little of the fun out of it for me but I will say they are very fun to ride.

They are great fun Eric, I wish I could afford another Iron Head Sporty but then again over here, they're often cheaper than CB750's, so once I restore my K2 I might look into an early Sporty project......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I've always pined for an Ironhead Sporty. Just a classic bike.

Fun Fact: With the proper application of a soda can shim, a cb350 twin clutch cable can do a pretty believeable impersonation of a cb400f clutch cable ;D

Backstory: I've got a pair of 400f's (one runner and a parts bike) that I'm prepping for sale for a friend. The good bike is still pretty rough but since it has proven itself to run I figured it was worthwhile to make it somewhat driveable so that a prospective buyer might take a test ride and pay me dozens of dollars more than if it was just a stationary bike. The previous clutch cable setup was pretty sad so I took a cable i had laying around (from a 350 twin) and made something that was a solid improvement from before.

Hang on when you first ride that sabre. If you whack the throttle in first you may be looking at the sky. The big V4s got a bad rep over the cam thing. Chances are that you don't have anything to worry about.

Don't be afraid to wind it up but remember it will do 50 in 1st. Your CB won't feel nearly as fast after one ride. Properly attired it is a highway crunching machine.

Last night I sat outside and painted some parts

Only 1 month away from winter and it was a cool 25 celcius yesterday.

Doing more today and expecting 27c, winter is always cool.

Bring on the warmer weather

Pulled top end of the motor on my 550.

Geez is this thing nasty.  Cylinders looked like they were in good shape so I'm happy there.  Have to find a new cam chain adj though..
