Today I will hopefully be vinyl wrapping my tank. Saturday I was able to finally get her running and tuned. I love my new dyna coils!

Finished clear/blue chromate conversion for most of the hardware.

Wow!
Thanks. Takes insanely long and very laborious, but I guess its worth it if preserving originality ;)

Freed up my clutch cable. PIA to get it moving and clean oil flushing out the bottom when it was locked up.
Now it's as free as a speedo cable. One of those  things you don't know you have a problem with till it stops working and freaks you out that it might be a major tear down...at least I hope it was just the cable.

Of all the bikes I ever had my 73 was the only one I REALLY wanted back. Luckily 6 years ago my wish became reality and I got the SAME one back. She won't get out of my hands again. ;D

Installed my custom oil tank, and ran the oil & vent lines. Discovered a design flaw-the vent line for the oil tank won't allow me to use the stock airbox. No clearance between oil tank, and airbox. Bummer- guess I have no choice now but to use the "dreaded" pod filters. Have too much time/money in the oil tank to not use it. Also, ordered a new 4into1 exhaust pipe from Carpy.

Got my new hard pipe from Slingshot. Braking is much better now...

Now the big question will be if this new pipe stops the front brake dragging and improves my mileage. Bike did seem a bit quicker handling and easier rolling than before.

New Oury grips are awesome too!

Wow!

Wow +1! I better go over to Ed's thread and see how he did it, I need to do a heap of parts for my K2 resto! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well the weather here is sh1t at the moment, winter has settled over southern Oz like a big wet poop and motivation has reached an all time low, but I'm slowly turning a pile of rusty parts back into a bike. ;D

Terry sweet looking bike. Where did you get the seat and are you looking to sell it?

G'Day mate, thanks for that. I had that seat on my bike (it was a NOS Guiliari when I bought it a couple of years ago) but I sold it to Mike for his Cafe Racer, so I better not sell it to you too! They're a good seat, but $739 for that one on eBay? Ouch! I sold mine to Mike for less than half of that........... ;D

BTW: Does yours still have that little Giuliari flag?

Thanks Terry! Unfortunately I don't have it documented since I've been doing small chunks over the past few months, but a lot of people have asked about it so I wrote up a summary here

Put the oil tank in the electrolysis bath, I decided to leave the inside alone for now so I blocked off all the passages and let it float while the process works on it. I'll flip it over to the other side and check it over tonight. I put an old brake drum in as the sacrifice this time, seems to be working about double as well as the smaller ones I'd had before.

I had to clean a spot of the drum off to make a good contact so while I had the grinder out I smoothed out the little flanges on the lower engine mounts, for and since I was in a grinding mood I did the same to the cut frame too... I'm not sure what I'll be doing with the cut frame, but I've been prepping it right along with the one I intend to use for the resto.
I also cleaned up the cuts a bit with the grinder, they were jagged and rusty. I'm sure the PO made some hasty sawzall cuts, they look a little better but aren't even left to right. I'll either figure out some way to restore it, or wield in a loop since it's already been cafe-cut.
