I rode it.

After waiting for so long to have this bike actually running well, I collected my CB450 from Jeff at Ace and took it for a much needed spin - my god it's going so well now.

It just pulls away so easy and moves through the rev range so smoothly, it does slip out of gear once or twice but then I reckon I just need to be firmer on the selector.

An hour or so blatting around town and I still have one of those grins on my face that wont fade for another day or so.

And then I get back on the bike again tomorrow!

Things are getting a little tight again Nick. Moved 10 bikes out last fall to a new location but need to scoot a few more over or try to sell some if I can. Unfortunately I may have another little deal in the works, afraid to answer the phone.   ;D   ;D

Yes Danny that is the price that He negotiated. Of course I paid him a finders fee to keep him happy and looking for more. Nice having extra eyes out there poking around.

More wirewheeling! The lower triple tree, a break caliper and the rear master cylinder's body. The clip that holds the rear master together is rusted in there badly, I broke one end off and the other won't budge.

This pore rear hadn't been serviced in a long, looooong time when I took it off the bike, the fluid had turned to a chunky/grainy white substance and the rust was pretty bad in there too, there was even a lot of deep pitting in some of the aluminum around the dust seal.

Well put over a half a ton of Buffalo in the garage tonight. A younger fellow antique picker friend of mine called me on Sunday and said that He found something I may be interested in. Looked at the pics he sent and said I am in. He called this afternoon and we met up in a little burg a little to the west of my house and I picked him up with the truck and trailer and we rode over together and loaded the poor souls up and a few extra parts . He had made a deal for $200.00 on the pair earlier and we loaded them up. Of course I paid him a very fair finders fee as is the etiquette in this business. Good friends out looking is a valuable asset.
The poor pinky 72 has suffered a major hit and has some scars and at this point the engine is locked so may be destined as a parts bike to help my others. If I need money  just the four shoe front brake set up should put me into a profit on the whole deal.
The blue bike is a 73 and "ran when parked". Engine turns, has a title and the mileage may be low if we believe those odometers. I have a few others and these can be a money pit but you do not see them often very cheap so I by 2 strokes when I can.
The funny part was when we stopped to pick them up the owner knew me from years back from a mutual friend , damn long hair, need to get it cut so I have a new look   :D

Just curious, how many bikes are in stock at Ekpent Honda-Suzuki? ;D

More what i did yesterday than today.  Dropped my K5 head off at a machinist to get him to remove a cam tower bolt I snapped off.... long story... then took my triple tree to a lock smith and had him remove the old steering lock.... today... who knows what I'll do. I wont get to bed till 7 am after my night shift and Im usually to groggy when I awake to make good decisions or do good work. We will see.  :)

Yes!

Send a container load to Terry then I can pick them over and buy what I am after first!

(or second - after Terry).

PS Terry - I do have space to store around 20 bikes if needed...

Thanks Eric, (and Cliff) I love both of those "new" GT750's, geez, a J and a K, my two favorites? Send that container over mate, by the time it arrives it'll be bike riding weather here in the frozen south, and I'll have to hire some security guards to control the frenzied buyers! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I will stand guard...

And I too would love an early GT750, particularly the four leading shoe front drum brake model.

I already have that drum brake - except it is going on the CB450 Hansen race replica.

Changed the oil for the first time since owning it. Got rid of the O'Reilly stuff that was in it before. The most amazing thing was I didn't get any oil on my clothes. I was pretty impressed.

Also threw in the NOS tool kit I got off the 'bay...still waiting patiently for my NOS stator cover...

Took a lovely hour ride up to a lake. Bike was running really well, although it felt a little "pogo stick" bouncy on the front end when I was on the highway. Got to the lake and enjoyed the scenery with my wife. Came back to the bike to find the electrical sidecover missing. I really hope someone is enjoying one OEM sidecover.... It would have made more sense for them to take both of them.
