Met up with a few members today and this thing called pimpzilla.
SUPER NICE group of 750's there Guys !!  See your bike Nick and Sean's, what other members are there ?  Safe rides

Hey Eric, Dennis (old scrambler) , Jerry (Jerry H), Johnie (Johnie), Trevor (Hoodellyhoo).
Bet Johnie had a hard time wondering which one to pull out for the ride  ;D

No exaggeration Johnie needs to change his SN to either Showtime or Showroom.  His Red one is museum quality!

So was Dennis the lead dog?    Who has the hot 750?!
Tews' k1 was spanking my f3...Old Scrambler seems to know every good road in Wisconsin.
If it works good, it looks good...

requested pic of the rod in question. The bolt is bent, the other all scratched up. Also found the nuts later.

Oh, OK mate, so the rod didn't let go completely? Well your "Big End Bearing" is obviously trashed, looks like it wasn't getting any oil, so have a look at that journal on the crank and see if it's toast, if it's still OK (possible) have a look at the oil holes and see if they're blocked.

I've got a crank that I removed from the K2 engine that someone had rebuilt, (poorly) they'd installed new bearings but hadn't checked that all the oil holes in the crank were clear, and the oil holes on #3 were blocked, resulting in that bearing burning and falling apart.

Did you do any other damage with the nuts bouncing around inside? Looks like you were lucky! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I bought it! I'm back in the club! 1972 frame with 73 engine cb500 registered as a 73. Hasn't been registered since 97. Guy I got it from said he bought it from a mate a couple years ago with plans to do it up, but never did anything. Started when parked, of course. I haven't had a chance to do anything yet. Carbs and engine have both been painted, so I'm not sure if it has had any engine work in the past. I need to hook up all the cables and put fluids in it to see if it runs. Also needs a battery and kick start lever. Other than that I think it's all there. Came with two four into one set ups and (I think) original 4-4 that is a little rough.

And I have a real garage!

Busy. Met a friend and fellow forum member this morning at the local mega dealer to check out his new 2014 CB1100 he ordered that is still in the crate. He wrote the check and will take delivery Monday. Very Nice
Buttoned up the carb clean on the V65 and reinstalled air filter stack.Lots of horror stories on these but not too bad especially with new rubber manifolds, no longer scared to dig in. Ran it a little on the bottle, bout ready for a first ride.
Recently picked up a Kaw KZ750.Waiting on sprockets, chain has arrived, so pulled carbs to find a gas leak.Pulled carbs and attached fuel bottle to find culprit. Of course the PO or somebody had done the typical sh#t job of too big of gas line with two many crap as% clamps, leaked like a sieve. Easy fix and was going to replace anyways and a good time to clean the jets/bowls which were in good shape. Changed the oil and pulled front and rear brake pads, look worn and original so ordered new. Hopefully button it up next week, take it for a ride and move on to another couple in the works.

Still waiting for parts from David Silver Spares.
Hooked up the Venhill hydraulic brake light switch on the Steaming Pile.
Found some really dodgy hack work on the front 'guard. Drilled out the rivets and started fabricating a proper hoop to hold the guard in the right place.

Changed the oil last night and discovered that  I cracked the oil pan in the process and that my cb750 dry sump oiling system is actually quite wet...and $25 worth of 20w50 is really only a fleeting glimpse of value when it is in a puddle on the garage floor....please, someone take this f3 away from me, I hate it, what a piece of mechanical garbage

Well it was a wonderful pre-spring day today, and I was on a motorcycling mission. I actually got out of bed around 8am, and after a breakfast of eggs and fried tomatoes (from my own garden) on buttered toast, washed down with a cup of joe, I sauntered out to the ol' Tardis to do some work on the mighty 'Wang.

My last episode (re-installing the wheels with the new Stinko whitewalls) resulted in my rear brake caliper crapping out and dumping Dot 4 all over my driveway, so I invested 20 bucks (plus 60 for shipping) on an ebay replacement. It had arrived by the time I got back from working at a Navy base this week, so I got the tools out and after 4 or 5 hours, it was all ready to go. My "Mity Vac" made short work of the brake bleeding, and I was ready to ride.

I'd really only intended to do a short "shakedown" ride, but I ended up doing a quick 150 miler, riding from my place to Yea (pronounced "Yay", not "Yeah") via Broadford. I stopped in at the "Red Plate Cafe", a great place for any biker to stop for a coffee and a snack. The place is run by a biker and his son, and they were keen to give me the 2 dollar tour.

He's got some great bikes in and around his cafe, from vintage BSA slopers to Kawasaki H2 race bikes, Yamaha SR500 Cafe Racer, a Speedway bike, and a nice Yamaha TT500, not to mention the BSA 650 twin and TT500 hybrid motocross bike out the front.

All in all, a great ride, great coffee and "ANZAC" biscuits, (Cookies) and I'll be going back again next ride. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Remember this guy? He co-starred in "Ghost Rider", and his name's Bob.

Thanks, Terry. I'm doing a sports turf apprenticeship for work. I've been doing a bit of hunting with my longbow, and shooting tournaments a little too. I'm currently ranked #3 in NZ with my longbow. I'm also playing in a basketball league here and go fishing as often as possible. Where the hell am I going to find time to fix up this bike?! We're loving it here, and don't plan to leave any time soon. Have you done anything with those parts I cleaned up for ya?

G'Day Adam, good for you mate, great to see you enjoying your time in "Middle Earth"! I sold the K6 frame to a movie set dresser, and got Jeff to true the wheels and installed new Pirelli Sport Demons, and put them on a bike I'm building for a guy called Mike.

I built his engine last Christmas, and it looks so nice I couldn't bear putting it back in his horrible rolling chassis, so I've taken his roller as a part trade for the bike I'm building for him. Here's a pic. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Just got back home from a two day ride through some great twisties in the far south east of Victoria.

The 'Melbourne Cafe Racer' group run an annual 'Brass Monkey Ride' - involving lots of riding, with this years destination being the Shady Creek Hall where we lit a big fire, had a rockabilly band playing, ate baked spuds and drank copious amounts of beer, red wine, scotch and Frangellico.

Time to rest.

Had a real satori over electrical schematics.  See the few schemas that everybody uses pritn pretty #$%*ty.  Like green for ground looks identical to black on paper, brown and red are also quite the same.

If I were better person, I would redo it and publish it here  :)
