First time starting the bike in 2 months to go to work. Firing on 3 cylinders. Pulled spark plug #1, not earthing properly due oil residue on thread. Cleaned up and fired on all 4. Warmed bike up for about 5 minutes maybe 7, pulled clutch lever in, put into gear nicely as clutch plates didn't stick together and off I went. Nice to get back on the old girl. Happier still that the clutch plates didn't stick together after sitting for that long.

Way to go Rocky, I've got 4 of my bikes on club rego now, 70 bucks per year per bike sh1ts all over 720 for just one! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yes you can.  You ask Vic Roads to put it on permanent retention, and they let you keep the original plate.

Attempted to replace the footpeg rubbers. Started with the left. Had to cut the old one off. After much swearing, sweating, WD40, and prying, I finally managed to remove it from the peg. Wasn't paying attention and put the new one on rotated the wrong way. Looked at my mistake, put the foot peg down, and ordered another rubber from Partzilla.

None of my bikes (except my Triumph Rocket III) were bought new, so I wouldn't have a clue what their original rego numbers were Adam, but even if I did, I couldn't justify paying $2900 per year (as opposed to the $280 per year that I pay for all four bikes, plus $50.00 annual club membership) to keep their original number plates on them? An original number plate isn't even much of a selling point, so that's just silly............ ;D

I havn't put them on yet, but I bought a new set of grips. 60's retro made in the 70's. A bike shop has a bunch of old new stock like this. Repros cost around 30$. I paid 5 and some change for the real deal.

'Twas another beautiful pre-Spring day today, so I took the Bavarian Murder Weapon for a 140 mile ride. The poor old thing hasn't been out of the garage since June, so after pumping up the tyres and filling the tank with 98 Ron fuel, it was back out there, burning up the blacktop.

I stopped to take a couple of pics up in the hills, then rode on to Yea (Yay!) for a meat pie and a cold drink at the "Red Plate Cafe", run by a biker and his son, then home via Coldstream and Lilydale.

I arrived home and had a "Cleansing Ale" to wash the dust and dead bugs outta my maff, and was surprised to see that I've got a slightly sunburned face, something that I wasn't expecting so early. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Nice one Terry - would have come with you but I got some quality workshop time on the CB450 engine and with a mate on his BMW R100 he is putting back together in my workshop. Glad your BMW looked after you through those windy bits.

looks a lot better on it than modern sportbike grips. The thickness makes it more comfortable too.

So finally Terry I have something you don't. A K1 with the original rego number!! Took a while but I got ya!  ;D

How do you know for sure Adam? Do you have the original sales slip with the rego number on it? That's the problem, it could have been re-registered any time in the 1970's and you'd still have a 1970's era plate? Unless you've got the original purchase documents, you'll never really know. Cheers, Terry. ;D
