Replaced a bum condenser. Bike runs great now!

Changed front sprocket on my CB750 K6 from 17t to 18t without open the chain! Almost new chain, super duper heavy type with 100 golden 530 links X-ring, riveted master link. Removed front sprocket only that had lost one bolt, rear wheel in front position. Sprocket bolts now fastened with blue thread lock.

I do not use bike between redlights nowadays. It screamed too much...:)
Yesterday changed pilots and mains in my Vm29 carbs again....

Hondaman ignition module got it place in the toolbox under the seat. Connected and ready to go with extra grounding wires from coils bracket to frame metal to metal contact.

Waiting for a not rainy day for test. Summer yesterday, today rain.

Finished the engine rebuild on my CB500 K0. New primary chain, cam chain, gaskets and seals all around. Also powder coated it all. Here's a before and after shot.

Yeah, it's taken me all summer to get the engine done. Now I'm just waiting on new engine mount bolts and friction plates. I'm still lying to myself that I'll have it back on the road this season. Though, I may need to stretch the riding season into November.  ;D

All in all, not a bad weekend. Time to get a roller together!
Bloody beautiful mate n I know how much work goes into something like that.
Thanks, all winter sanding in small chunks, then a whole day buffing it yesterday. PITA, but worth it  :-\
Here're some pics of a similar process I did to my brake and gear change levers, stock these parts have cast marks all over them, I spend a couple of days smoothing them all out and polished ready for chrome. Job made harder being that I was working with steel.

They look great! Fortunately for the chromed pieces, the plating shop took care of smoothing them down :)

True but if you do the smoothing/polishing yourself you reduce the price of the chrome by 2/3. I had a lot of chrome done to nuts, bolts and washers and did all the polishing on them myself, all six sides and the top, I spent 3 months restoring bolts. nut and washers, never again ::)

You and me work alike bud, swing by my build thread sometime. I did a bulk deal with the chromer as well, but I only cleaned the parts as best as I could, no smoothing them out or anything. Everything, down to the smallest chrome washers got replated! As for all the zinc stuff, I plated all that myself and chromated it too! A whole year has past and I can feel that its getting close to be complete, fingers crossed.

I think 18/48 was OEM anyway so you just went back to stock. The 17 was OEM on an earlier K and on the Fs I think.

As much as the Yellow looks good, I think I would go with Blue, however its all a matter of personal choice right? However if you were going for a stock look the Yellow would likely be a better choice.

Yea, I wanted a more stock look but I think I'll go with the blue for now. Most of the hardware was done blue and only the most exposed to the env pieces were done heavy yellow (kickstand bolts and spring, centerstand shaft and c-clamp etc.)

Removed the bearing form the clutch lifter plate (just fell out) and the counter shaft end cover (this one took the heat gun to fall out).

Sealed my tank with Caswell epoxy. Now when I get my carbs back from Harisuluv I won't be putting any more rusty crap into them.

Sold my Kawasaki last night  :o

No - not any of the good ones. Went on a house call for antiques a couple of weeks ago, bought a few things and the guy asked me to haul this out of his yard for him. Been sitting outside for some time.
Ran an add and got a call. People drove from a fair distance. Very good looking lady with a mini van and trailer pulls in my lot- Hmm nice.  Out jumps an enthusiastic 16 year old young man and little brother and looks it over. Mom says he has a bunch of lawn mowers etc. and loves to tinker with gas engines. He works up the courage to offer 40 bucks and I say sold  :D
Glad he got it and nice to see some of the younger generation wanting to tinker and get their hand dirty on engines and machines instead of living behind a computer screen. !!
