Jesus Terry you got me paranoid now looking at that oil tank. Was that bike sitting outside for a long time or something ??
Ha ha, it was scary Eric, this bike's engine was absolutely buggered, when he brought it over to my place you could grab #3 conrod and move it up and down almost 1/4 of an inch.
A clutch plate had shattered and was scrunched into tiny little bits that went through the oil system, but a PO hadn't cleaned the crap out of the engine, (or the oil tank, I'm betting) he just replaced the clutch plate. The clutch plate's fibres blocked everything and starved the top end of oil, which destroyed the cam and rockers, siezed one piston, and the oil holes in the crank at #3 conrod were blocked, which caused that bearing to burn down to pretty much next to nothing.
It's amazing what you find in oil tanks though, awhile ago I posted some pics of some 'Roo or Sheep poo that I found in another oil tank, it's no wonder Honda hid the filler caps behind the sidecovers on the later CB750's..........
