I charged the battery and started it. FTW. I don't care about short run, moisture, pipes might rust, not hot enough. I started the bike and felt that.....life feeling in my lungs. The smell of a rough exhaust on my shirt. Ready for winter.

Like those 4 into 1's Terry. what are they ?

G'Day Pete, it's a Tranzac with the top half of the megaphone chopped off just below the weld, it was on my "Goldie" bike when I first bought it, it'd been heavily crashed and the megaphone was crushed. Tranzac wouldn't sell me just the slip on megaphone, so I had to buy a complete new pipe. I chopped the damaged part off the pipe and I actually like the look of what's left over.

I've still gotta put a baffle in it, but it should work OK. Here's a pic of Goldie with the new Tranzac so you can see what I'm talking about. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Terry,
I had been looking at that transzac you had posted earlier - looks even better shortened up a bit like the old walker 4 into 1. I may have to get one of these and get him to just shorten up the mega a little.
BTW took your advise ( a while ago ! )  and got Rex Wolfenden to build me an 836. Pick it up next week. He says I'll get an extra 10hp with a 4into1 instead of my HM300's and he mentioned transzac. Any thoughts ?

Jesus Terry you got me paranoid now looking at that oil tank. Was that bike sitting outside for a long time or something ??

Ha ha, it was scary Eric, this bike's engine was absolutely buggered, when he brought it over to my place you could grab #3 conrod and move it up and down almost 1/4 of an inch.

A clutch plate had shattered and was scrunched into tiny little bits that went through the oil system, but a PO hadn't cleaned the crap out of the engine, (or the oil tank, I'm betting) he just replaced the clutch plate. The clutch plate's fibres blocked everything and starved the top end of oil, which destroyed the cam and rockers, siezed one piston, and the oil holes in the crank at #3 conrod were blocked, which caused that bearing to burn down to pretty much next to nothing.

It's amazing what you find in oil tanks though, awhile ago I posted some pics of some 'Roo or Sheep poo that I found in another oil tank, it's no wonder Honda hid the filler caps behind the sidecovers on the later CB750's.......... ;D

G'Day Johno, no worries mate, Rex knows more about our bikes than anyone I know, so I'd take his advice. You could probably sell your HM300's and buy a new Tranzac, and have enough left over to pay for your trip back to Wagga.

I think I've got an old Walker 4 into 2 here? My favourite is an old Peter Allen 4 into 2 I've got here, I swapped it for the Yoshi pipe on my bike, and after a couple of years it came back to me for free, so was a win/win! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Thank for the help. I would keep my HM300's for a future project. Would love to get my hands on an old walker 4 into 1.

Looks like a very nice survivor Steve, just like what you were looking for. One recently sold like it over in Spring Lake Mi, lasted only a few hours but can't remember what year it was.  Remember it had a dent in the tank on the right side top towards the seat.
I assume your having it shipped, any idea yet as to its ETA. I will be looking forward to see your updates on this one  ;)   What's next on the bucket list ?

This one has a dent on the right, but on the logo, not near the seat.  Came with a spare tank too.  It's in my garage, the shipper dropped it off Sat morning at the Harvest Classic Bike Show that I was at over the weekend.  Charged the battery, now only shows 3 volts, so need to order a battery today.  Hasnt run in over 2 years, but kicks over fine and feels like good compression.
My bike fund is depleted, thinking about selling one, not buying another!
But an H2 seems like the way to go??!

I sure doesn't look like from the pics it will take much to get her going. Take it a 750 battery won't fit in, they slot nicely on the 900. Wally World probably has one unless your going sealed. Be sure to take some nice lakeside pictures soon when you get it out and don't kill yourself please   ;D

I took my oil tank off the 75 cb750 k and cleaned out the sludge in there.Took some oil and  10 ball bearings and just sat there rolling them around On and off for 4 hours.  Tons of that super fine particulate came out. And was Quite a messy operation.

No, a 750 or 550 nor a RD350 battery will fit, it is a narrow one.  I only buy sealed batteries now, one is on the way. I did hook up the 550 battery, I have most lights [no brake lights] and most importantly spark! No room to drop the bowls so I plan to try to kick start this weekend [no elec start on these....bummer].

Heck, triples hardly need a battery - trust me!  Without an electric start, as long as you've got a decent charging system all the battery is doing is smoothing out your voltage a little, and letting you run the headlight/taillight with the bike off.  Heck, there's a whole bunch of triple guys who just use a big capacitor instead.

I just went out and got a little alarm battery - something like 2Ah I think.  Works like a charm.   ;D
